In his free time he enjoyed fishing and carpentry. Besides his loving wife, he leaves a son, Nicholas T. of Burrillville; a brother, Dr. Ivan Klimko in CT; two sisters, Natalie O’Connor and Elaine Paquette both of Pawtucket and many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Msgr. Prevost High School, he served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was employed by Bradlees and Rocky’s Ace Hardware. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Red Sox fan.

In Rhode Island he worked as an electrician for the Teknor Apex Company. Mr. Gaethofs was a maintenance worker for the Town of Narragansett for many years. He was actively involved with the Adeline La Plante Memorial Center, where he loved to play basketball, volleyball, and sing in their Christmas concert every year. He was also involved with the Special Olympics and enjoyed flowers. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Gary W. Gaethofs of Cranston and two sisters, Barbara J. Cragin of Thornton, CO and Patricia A. Gadreau of West Warwick.

Stan served in the RI Army National Guard for fifteen years. He was a truck driver for the Jewelers Shipping Association, Cranston for over thirty years until retiring, and was an avid gardener. Marie was an inspector at Royal Mill and Warwick Mill until her retirement.
She was the beloved mother of Yvette and her husband Anthony Furtado of West Warwick.
She was the loving grandmother of five, great grandmother of ten and great-great grandmother of three.
Caring sister of Anita Plaziak of West Warwick. Marie was also the sister of the late Emil and Edward Lizotte, Theresa Clark and Florida Dion.

(08/17/12) Steven T. Simmons, age 67, of Shorewood, MN went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2012 following a tragic boating accident in Rhode Island. He was a member of Excelsior Covenant Church. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Simmons. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who love him.
Steve is survived by his wife of almost 40 years Nancy, children Melissa and Jeremy, grandchildren Lane and Dalton, brother Kenny Simmons (Bernice), sisters Debbie Aldrich (Geoff), Martha Miller (Garry), Susan Beauchemin (Michael) and Amy Marseglia (Bob) and many cousins including close double cousins, nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Steve was born and raised in Warwick, RI, graduated from Pilgrim HS in 1963 and URI in 1971 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Steve was employed as a Mechanical Engineer until his retirement from Marathon Oil Refinery at which time he fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing softball full time and running senior softball tournaments.
He leaves behind many dear softball friends including friend and associate Terry Hennessy. Besides being deeply devoted to his family, Steve was loved by many for his energy, genuine compassion, dedication, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

(08/17/12) Roy M. “Mac” MacDonald, 86, of Halifax, MA, husband of Annette (Levasseur) MacDonald, died at home, Thursday, August 16, 2012, surrounded by his family.
An Army veteran of WW II, and recipient of numerous decorations including the Bronze Star Medal, he participated in the 42nd Rainbow Division’s liberation of the Dachau concentration camp, being the third soldier in. He late served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He was employed at the VA Hospital, Brockton and was a residential landlord for many years. He enjoyed his hunting camp at Grand Lake Stream’s Third Machias Lake and traveling to Florida. He was a skilled carpenter and a member of the Tri-Town Masonic Lodge.
Besides his wife of 42 years, he leaves four children from a previous marriage, Patricia MacDonald of El Paso, TX, Brenda Dupont (John) of Anna, TX, Charles MacDonald (Regina Esposito) of Grand Lake Stream, ME, and Roy MacDonald, Jr.; grandchildren Kristin MacDonald, David MacDonald, Tracie Hostler and Jon Brown and 7 great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Charles and Beatrice (Hickey) MacDonald.

(08/17/12) Murphy, Francis R., 83, of Youngs Ave., West Warwick, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012.
He was the beloved husband of Hope M. (Fairbanks) Murphy, they had been married for 56 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Patrick H. and Helen M. (O’Kane) Murphy. He was a lifelong resident of West Warwick.
Mr. Murphy was a 35 year member of Glazier’s Local #1333, becoming a life member in 1991 and upon his retirement from the former Superior Glass Co., Inc. as a metal fabricator.
He served in the U.S. Navy with occupation forces, following cessation of hostilities in WW II. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the VFW Langevin Post #449, American Legion Post #2, past cub master and troop committeeman for Troop #1 Artic and a communicant of the former St. James Church where he served as an usher, lector and parish council member.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Patrick H. Murphy and his wife Ann of Cranston and Francis R. Murphy, Jr. and his wife Loreen of Coventry; a daughter, Hopemary Bruno and her husband Frank of Las Vegas, NV and eleven grandchildren, Daniel, Jacqueline, Kyle, Shane, Frank, Dana, Nicholas, Caitlyn, William, Kevin and Erin. He was the brother of the late Helen Lenihan, James P. and Henry Murphy.

Douglas J Auger - Coventry, RI
(08/18/12) Coventry - Douglas J. Auger, 18, of Weaver Hill Road died Friday, August 17, 2012 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Fish Hill Road in Coventry.
Born in Warwick, he was the beloved son of John C. and Susan L. (Robinson) Auger. Doug graduated this past June from Coventry High School where he was a member of the boys’ varsity basketball team, and he was enrolled at the Community College of Rhode Island for the upcoming fall semester. Since his graduation Doug had been working for the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management at Goddard State Park in Warwick.
Doug was very athletic and was a lifelong member of the Coventry Soccer Association. He played baseball in the Central Coventry Little League and in the Coventry Babe Ruth League. Prior to being selected to the boys’ varsity team Doug played basketball in the Coventry Basketball Association, in the AAU Basketball League and for the Coventry Middle School team.
Besides his parents he is survived by his brother Bradley J. Auger of Coventry, his aunts and uncles: Robin L. Lancellotta and her husband Michele of West Warwick; Karen L. Snurkowski of West Warwick; Hazel Swanson; Ruth Livingston; Martin O. Auger and his wife Pauline of Brownstown, MI; Dennis Auger of North Kingstown; Marlene Auger of Warwick; Harold and Lesley Behm of Coventry; several cousins and his girlfriend Jordan Passaglia. He was the maternal grandson of the late John M. and Helen M. (Anderson) Robinson, the paternal grandson of the late Gerard and Isabel (Goozey) Auger and the nephew of the late Kenneth Auger.
Doug’s family is remembering him as a quiet, caring and dependable young man who was a hard worker and a loving person especially of his new dog, “Tank”.

She was married for sixteen years to James F. Quinn. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Katheryn (Artesani) Cushing.
She was an office manager for Tarbox Jeep in North Kingstown, RI for twenty-five years until her retirement in 2008. She was also one of the founding members of a womens’ basketball league in Coventry.
She was all about her family and friends.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four children; Jon H. Mathews, Jr., Darin J. Mathews, Shannon M. Oliver, and Noel P. Mathews, two sisters; Marilu Joslin and Patricia Osterhout, six grandchildren and one great grandson. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister, Allen and Kathleen Cushing.

He was the husband of Paula M. (Finnerty) McCormick. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Phyllis R. (Mullins) McCormick and the late James E. McCormick.
James was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the United States Navy between March 1971 and February 1975 as a Gunners Mate on the USS Santa Barbara. He also served in the Naval Reserves between March 1975 and January 1977 before residing in Rhode Island. He graduated from Roger Williams College and finished his career with Jade Engineered Plastics in Bristol as their General Manager. James was also the Quartermaster and a house Committee Member of the Crompton Veterans Organization.
In addition to his wife and mother he leaves a daughter, Samantha L. McCormick; a son, Jesse M. McCormick; a sister, Janet L. Simpson; two brothers, Danny R. McCormick and C. Curtis McCormick and family,
Marie L. McCormick.

(08/25/12) North Smithfield – Robert M. Chase, Sr., 81, of Homestead Avenue died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Katherine L. “Katy” (Shoemaker) Chase.
Born in Providence he was a son of the late Henry F. and Ellen M. (Hannah) Chase. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War and in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars before retiring after twenty-three years honorable service with the rank of Staff Sargent in 1971. He later was employed as a security officer at the Community College of Rhode Island.
As a Mason he was a member of St. John’s Lodge #1F&AM, Providence and a past master of Overseas Lodge #40 F&AM. He also belonged to Harmony Chapter #15 R.A.M.; Providence Council #1; Calvary Commandery K.T.; the Scottish Rite Valley of Providence; the Rhode Island Shriners where he was a member of the Legion of Honor, the Director’s Staff and a former Military Aide; the Swords of Bunker Hill; the Grottoes of North America and the Marhaba Shrine. As a member of the Rhode Island Grand Lodge he served as the Right Worshipful Grand Marshal for Bradford L. Barco, Sr. the Most Worshipful Grand Master in 2004.
Bob was a member and former elder of Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian in Warwick and a former Scout Master and Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. During the Christmas season Bob often dressed as Santa Claus to entertain at holiday gatherings.
He is survived by his children: Denise R. Brown and her husband Robert of Pawtucket, Robert M. Chase, Jr. and his wife Robin of Coventry, Timoli R. Richardson and her husband Donald of Warwick and Russell A. Chase and his wife Melissa of North Smithfield; his sister: Elizabeth Bligh of West Virginia; his brothers: Donald Chase of Presque Isle, ME and William Chase of Troy, NY and he was a loving “Papa” of his grandchildren Chris, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Alex and Sam. He was the brother of the late Mildred Coccia, Henry and Milton Chase.

Born in Cranston, a son of the late George A. and Mary E. (Howard) Butler, he was a World War II United States Navy veteran serving with the Seabees. He worked as an assistant boiler operator, employed by Narragansett Electric Company for 37 years retiring in 1992.
He is survived by his son James F. Butler, Jr. of Portsmouth; his sister Mary E. \"Evie\" Walmsley of Central Falls; his grandsons: Ted J. Butler of Bristol and John T. Butler of East Greenwich and his beloved companion Eleanor Horiagon of West Warwick. He was predeceased by his brothers John and George Butler.

(08/25/12) Sandra “Sandy” L. (Paolucci) Arnone, 51, of Charlestown, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Jeff M. Arnone of Charlestown, two sons, Anthony Fisher and Robbie Arnone of Charlestown, her mother, Virginia DiLullo (Paolucci) of Cranston, her father, John Paolucci of Port St. Lucie, FL, her sister, Laura Lee of Lincoln, her brother, Dan Paolucci of Johnston and nieces and nephews, Krista, Rick, Jana, Matt and Cindy.
Sandra was born in Providence on December 3, 1960, the daughter of John and Virginia (DiLullo) Paolucci. Sandra loved spending time in the sun and on the water, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services will be private and are under the direction of Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sandra’s name can be made to the Charlestown Animal Shelter, Sand Hill Road, Charlestown, RI 02813.

Virginia L (Smith) Grimes - South Kingstown, RI
(08/23/12) Virginia L. Grimes, 76, of Kingstown Rd. in Wakefield, passed away Thursday August 23rd at Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was the wife of the late Clinton W. Grimes, Jr.
Born in South Kingstown on December 8, 1935, Virginia was a lifelong resident of South County. She devoted her entire life to taking care of her disabled daughter Linda. She had also worked in the South Kingstown High School Cafeteria and at the University of Rhode Island in the housekeeping department. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Wakefield and a member of the Peace Dale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Indian Run Apartments where she resided.
Mrs. Grimes is survived by four sons; Christopher D. Grimes of Guilford, CT, Stephen A. Grimes of Peace Dale, William J. Grimes of Woodville, Richard M. Grimes of Eithus, FL; two daughters; Deborah M. Castrovillari of Narragansett and Linda V. Grimes of Wakefield. She also leaves twelve grand children.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday August 27th at 10:00am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield, RI with burial to follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Rt. 2, Exeter. Visiting hours will be held in the Forbes Funeral Home, 28 Columbia St., Wakefield on Sunday August 26th from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

Mary (Simco) Frey - Westerly, RI
(08/26/12) Mary (Simco) Frey, 96, of Cheffield Court, Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Westerly Nursing Home. She was pre-deceased by her husband, J. Ronald Frey. She is survived by her son, Kenneth V. Frey of Westerly.
Mary was born on October 5, 1915, the daughter of the late George Simco. For many years, she was the manager for Sacks 5th Avenue Beauty Salon in New York City.
