(08/26/12) Dorothy M. (Pypniowski) Caron, 82, of Grinnell Ave., Tiverton, wife of Robert R. Caron, died Saturday, August 25, 2012. She was a member of St. Christopher’s Church Women’s Guild. Besides her husband of 61 years, she leaves, three sons, Richard R. Caron and his wife Susan of Seekonk, Donald R. Caron and his wife Mary of Bristol and Michael R. Caron and his wife Jo-Anne of Portsmouth; grandchildren, Stephanie Caron and Nicholas Caron; siblings, John Pypniowski, Louise Kudrich and Stanley Pypniowski, all of Fall River; and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Krawczyk) Pypniowski and the sister of the late Walter Pypniowski. (08/26/12) Cumberland – Ovila J. “Chick” Pelland, 85, of Little Pond County Road died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Neil) Pelland. Mr. and Mrs. Pelland were married for 53 years. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Homer and Roseanne (Bergeron) Pelland, he had lived in Cumberland for the past 23 years. Mr. Pelland was an engineering aide for Texas Instruments, Attleboro for 32 years before retiring in 1968. He was a member of Assembly of God Church, South Attleboro. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey J. Pelland and his companion, Sheila Fagan of Cumberland and Michael Merola of North Scituate; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Tracy Ann Pelland and the brother of the late Herve, Aldor and Donat Pelland, Laudia Gagnon, Leone O’Donnell, Irene Deneault and Dorilla Larence. (08/27/12) Vincent J. McCabe, Jr., 72, of Warwick, died Friday, August 24, 2012 at his home. Born in Providence, May 8, 1940 he was the son of the late Vincent J. McCabe, Sr. (Capt. WPD) and Alice B. (Kelley) McCabe. A Programmer for M.I.T. at the Lincoln, MA Lab, he retired after 30 years of dedicated service. He was an alumnus of Warwick Veterans High and So. Illinois University. Vincent proudly served in the US Army for 11 years, including 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He is survived by his devoted sister, Sheila L. Curran and her husband Harry of Warwick; his nephew Harry Jacob Curran, his niece Helen Kelley Mercurio and several grandnieces and grandnephews. His funeral service was held Monday, August 27, 2012 at twelve noon in The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Route 5, Warwick, (Exit 12A off of I-95). Burial with military honors took place at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. (08/27/12) Marilyn V. (de Lasalle) Warren, 73, of Exeter, passed away Saturday, August 25th, at home. She was the beloved wife of Raymond C. Warren, Sr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Edna M. (Hakanson) de Lasalle. Mrs. Warren was a graduate of Hillside High School in Hillside, New Jersey, class of 1956. A \"sports mom,\" she supported her children\'s activities in Edgewood Hockey, Little League, and Edgewood Eagle Football. She also enjoyed attending car shows. She was the loving mother of Raymond C. Warren, III of Exeter, Kevin E. Warren of Exeter, Brian S. Warren of Hopkinton and Deanna M. (Warren) Vieira of Cranston. Caring sister of Arlene Jernquist of Cranston and sister in law of Ann McNally. Cherished grandmother of five and great-grandmother of two. (08/27/12) Paul G. Kenahan, 45, passed away peacefully at his sister’s home on August 22, 2012 in East Greenwich, RI after a month long struggle with cancer. He was born in Rockaway, NJ to Richard Kenahan of Scottsdale, AZ and the late Shirley H. (Lent) Kenahan of East Greenwich. Born developmentally disabled, Paul met life’s milestones at his own pace with joy and gusto. An accomplished socializer, Paul made friends with all that he met. Since 1994, he worked at the Trudeau Patterson Vocational Center in Warwick and very much enjoyed delivering Meal on Wheels for seniors, attending social events, and dressing up for each holiday with his special ties and goofy hats. Hobbies of Paul were many. He enjoyed camping in the White Mountains in NH with his family. Swimming, boating, fishing, playing card games, especially Apples to Apples, puzzles, watching cooking, sports, and law enforcement shows, and shopping were activities Paul treasured. An avid collector of baseball caps and Spiderman memorabilia, Paul entertained all with his stories and skits. Paul is survived by his father, Richard Kenahan (Ellie) of Scottsdale, AZ, sisters Kathy Kenahan of Totowa, NJ, Joan Burbridge (Jim) of East Greenwich, RI, Donna Tully of Piermont, NH, and Mary Norgren (Kent) of Louisville, CO, and one brother, Rick Kenahan (Brenda) of Bedford, MA. Nieces are Kathryn Vacca Good, Kristen Tully, Emily Burbridge, and Emma Stelzner. Nephews are Tim Burbridge, Bryan Burbridge, Daniel Vacca, Sean Tully, Ian Stelzner, Sean Kenahan, Evan Kenahan, and Dylan Kenahan. He is survived also by his wonderful group home family in West Warwick. Paul embraced life always with a smile. His passion for life shaped and inspired his family and friends. He was the fabric of our lives and the center of all family events. We will honor his legacy by cherishing our memories. (08/27/12) Roland G. Chretien, 76, of Long Highway, Little Compton, husband of Lorraine (Gallant) Chretien, a longtime employee of Raytheon Company, Portsmouth, died Monday, August 27, 2012. He served in the Army during the Berlin Crisis of 1961 and was a member of Massachusetts Army National Guard for many years. He was member of Post 37 American Legion and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife of 51 years, he leaves three children, Michael Chretien of Assonet, Joseph Chretien and his wife Robin of Portsmouth, RI, and Brian Chretien and his wife Karen of Assonet; grandchildren, Megan Gosselin and her husband Jeff, and Rachel, Kimberly, Jessica, Danielle, Samuel and Katlin Chretien; a great-granddaughter, Ava Gosselin; siblings, Charles Chretien and Robert Chretien, both of Fall River, Roger Chretien of Assonet, Rene Chretien and Bertrand Chretien, both of Little Compton, and Denis Chretien of Wales, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Raymond and Imelda (Malenfant) Chretien, and the brother of the late Lorrette Chretien and Ernest Chretien. (08/27/12) Robert C. Kelsall, Jr., 88, of Flat River Road, in Coventry, RI passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. He was married for sixty years to Elsie F. (Anderson) Kelsall. Born in Providence RI, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Ada (Taylor) Kelsall, Sr. Robert was a draftsman for General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT for twenty-five years until his retirement in the 80\\\'s. He received a certificate from New England Technical School in Refrigeration and received a certification from Rhode Island School of Design for Drafting. Avid in woodworking and gardening, he was known for his cherries. He was an army veteran of WWII. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons; John A. and Paul R. Kelsall, and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother; Arthur Kelsall and a sister; F. Iris Hutchins. (Tavaraes) Cordeiro and son of the late Antone and Constance (Mello) Cordeiro. David was a retired boilermaker having worked with Boilermaker’s Union Local 29. He was the father of David Anthony Cordeiro of Portsmouth, RI and Brian Edward Cordeiro of Tiverton, RI; brother of Gabriel Cordeiro of Tiverton, RI, Constance Cabral of Tiverton, RI and the late Cerina Dutra; grandfather of Hannah and Julian and an uncle to several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his beloved pet Tasha. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery following cremation.

(08/28/12) TOMBELLO, ISABELLE V. (Reale) died August 25 at Rhode Island Hospital, holding the hand of her daughter. No woman has fought death more fiercely, but yet accepted it most gratefully when it came. She was the dear wife of the late John Tombello and the devoted mother of her cherished children Lynn Ann Dressler, Richard and Allen Tombello. Mother in-law of Stephen B. Dressler and Julia Tombello and sister of Anthony Reale. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Appolonia Reale and the sister of the late Virginia Cotter and Jane Berrillo. A talented seamstress, as well as sales woman she worked for many years at Mal\\\\\\\'s Baby Store and Brodsky\\\\\\\'s as well as being a Fuller-Brush Sales Woman. She then became a Chief Cook for the State of Rhode Island serving in many schools in Providence and Cranston. In retirement she volunteered at Woman and Infants Hospital (From 1995 to 2006) receiving an award for 1400 hours of service. She was a former parishioner of St. Ann\\\\\\\'s Church, Cranston and a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Warwick. Isabelle was well known for the thousands of delicious cakes, pies and cookies she passionately baked and gave away throughout the years to the countless angels that helped her on her long journey through life. The Staff and friends at Tamarisk Assisted Living made her last year an especially contented one. A woman of honesty, integrity, and tremendous faith her funeral procession will be held on FRIDAY AT 9 A.M. He was an Air Force Veteran during peace time. (08/29/12) Vivian Elizabeth (Thomas) Beaudreau, 88, loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, of Wildberry Apartments on Archambault Street, formerly of Sidney Street in West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August, 29, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar, Home and Hospice Care of RI with her family by her side. Vivian was born in Burnsville, North Carolina on January 31, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Elizabeth (Parker) Thomas and step-daughter of Vaughtie (Pate) Thomas from Burnsville, North Carolina. Vivian was wife of the late Wilfred J. Beaudreau. They met in her native North Carolina while he was recovering from injuries suffered while serving in the naval war in the South Pacific. They were married when the war ended and made their lifelong home in West Warwick. Vivian was devoted mother to her children, Patricia (husband Peter) Calci of West Warwick and Robert (wife Laurel) Beaudreau of New Durham, New Hampshire, adoring grandmother to Jason, Amy (husband Neal), Pamela (husband K.C.) and Peter III, and proud great-grandmother to Mattilynn and step, great-grandmother to Adelyn. She is survived by her brothers Russell (wife Helen) Thomas, Jim (wife Judy) Thomas; sisters Frances (husband Dennis) McCurry and Peggy Ray; sisters-in-law Martha, Cathy, Molly and Mary Thomas. She was also the sister of the late Lorie, Rosa Lee, Ruby, Virgil, Clinton and Bob all from North Carolina and Morris from Texas. Vivian was not only a caring wife, mother and homemaker, but also worked for Leviton Manufacturing and Natco Products for many years. Once retired, she cared for her grandchildren Pamela and Peter and later provided 24-hour care for her husband Wilfred during his final years. Vivian had a green thumb for gardening that showed in her numerous plants and flowers. She was an avid seamstress, enjoyed collecting elephant figurines and loved cooking her family s favorites. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and completing jigsaw puzzles. Her funeral will be held Saturday, September 1 at 8:30 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Funeral Service at 9:30 am in the First Baptist Church, 1613 Main Street, West Warwick. (08/30/12) MARTINOUS, ANNIE, 90, passed away peacefully August 30, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Providence on July 2, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Mershed and Flora (Checrallah) Martinous. She was the sister of the late Michael, Joseph and John Martinous and Amelia DiFolco. She is survived by her sisters- in-law, nieces and nephews and many caring friends whom she loved as her family. Annie graduated from Central High School in 1940. She was employed by the State of Rhode Island for 45 years, working in the Accounts Receivable Department of MHRH, retiring in May of 2011. She was a deeply religious woman who devoted her life to the Blessed Mother. She was a faithful prayer partner to many and a supportive friend to fellow Breast Cancer survivors. She was an active communicant of St. George\'s Church and a member of its Holy Rosary Sodality. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Secular Franciscan Order. Visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday, September 1, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at \'\'WOODLAWN\'\' Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston , followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St George\'s Church at St. Raymond\'s Church, 1240 North Main St., Providence. Seltzer of Ridgecrest, CA and the late Donald F. Born in Rockland, MA, a son of the late George E. and Annie M. (Wright) Briggs, he had lived in Lincoln for the past 52 years. Mr. Briggs worked in the stock room of Blackstone Valley Electric Company, Lincoln before retiring. He was a World War II Army veteran and a life member of VFW Post #8018. A 32nd Degree mason, he was a member of Paul Revere Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Brockton, MA. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Pawtucket and the First Baptist Church of America, Providence. He is survived by one daughter, Carla C. Brown and her companion, Karl Babbitt, one son, Eric A. Briggs and his wife, Kelley, and one granddaughter, Amanda Briggs, all of Cumberland. (08/31/12) Seekonk – Doris S. (Crowther) Craven, 88, formerly of Maynard Ave., passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late George H. Craven. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Eric L. and Beatrice (Entwistle) Crowther, she resided in Seekonk most of her life. Doris leaves two daughters, Lorel A. Paquette and her husband, Paul of Athol, MA and Mary-Jayne Foster of Foster, RI; three grandsons, Michael Paquette, Shayne Foster and Derrick Foster and a great-grandson, Matthew Paquette. She was the sister of the late Betty Priddy. VISITATION will begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by Services at 11 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Seekonk Cemetery. A lifelong Fall River resident, Elsie had worked as a folder and trimmer at Paroma Drapes. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church. He died of complications following surgery for a heart ailment. He was the son of the late Arthur and Evelyn (Hobby) Pettet. His sister, Diane Pettet Altman, nephew, Lucas P. Altman and niece, Morgan P. Altman, survive him. Born in New York, He was raised in Lincoln, Rhode Island. There he developed an abiding love of nature and a response to its beauty. John was a graduate of Providence Country Day, Hamilton College, and Columbia University. Thereafter began an amazing life’s journey. He became a world traveler, spending many years in Italy, particularly Rome and Milan where with his friend, Charles Auger, he founded the successful language school, “Lip Service”. It trained foreign speakers to quickly learn the language of business as spoken in English. At one time, he was a partner in a company that imported machinery from Italy to modernize the olive oil industry in Morocco. John was known for his love of architecture, opera, Broadway, books, horticulture and food, all enthusiastically shared with his many friends. In 2000, John became a tour guide for The Preservation Society of Newport County where he was known for humor, historical accuracy, and a unique ability to entertain visitors, particularly younger ones. He could easily transition into fluent French or Italian, enriching the tours for international visitors. He was a born teacher.
