GRILLI, MARIO D. SR. \"Jr\" 73 of Cranston passed away peacefully May 17, 2014 at Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret \"Marguerite\" (Cunetta) Grilli. Born in Providence a son of the late Mario and Helen (Phillips) Grilli. Mr Grilli was a customer service representative II at the registration counter for the Department of Motor Vehicles. He previously worked for the former F. Ronci Co. in North Providence. Mario was a member of local 2874 AFSCME. He is survived by his beloved children Michael A. Grilli, Mario D. Grilli Jr. Louis J. Grilli, Lisa A. Perrotti and Sandra J. Grilli. Loving grandfather of Mario D. Grilli III, Adam E. Grilli, Louis J. Perrotti, Kayla Marie Perrotti, Drew Perreault, Shennon Perreault, Cameron M. Grilli and Stacy Tate. Brother of Raymond Grilli and Dennis Grilli. Anthony Rocha - Fall River, MA
(05/24/14) Anthony Rocha, 40, of Fall River, a faithful Christian and former employee of ReFlek Corp., husband of Stacy (Lauzon) Rocha and son of Josephine (Camara) Rocha and the late James Rocha, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 after battling a long illness.
An avid sports fan, he played basketball and hockey and also enjoyed reading and writing.
Besides his wife and mother of Fall River, he leaves a son Tyler Rocha of Fall River; a brother, Jimmy Rocha and his fiancée Judy Remy of Fall River; a nephew Eric Rocha and dear friends including Adam Hanley and Pastor Donat Boucher.
His funeral service will be held Monday at 12:00 noon at the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation to follow.

Beverly A (Clarke) Bloomer - Pawtucket, RI
(05/24/14) PAWTUCKET – Beverly A. (Clarke) Bloomer, 72, of Riley Street, died Friday, May 23 at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of thirty years to Craig W. Bloomer.
Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Robert B. Clarke and Doris (Collette) Velletri, and step-daughter of Fred Velletri of Johnston, she had been a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Bloomer was the Aquatics Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Cumberland-Lincoln for twenty-seven years, retiring in 2007. Prior to that, she was a Swim and Gymnastics Coach, and a Program Coordinator at the Pawtucket YMCA from 1960 to 1980. She also ran the MacColl Field YMCA Summer Camp for many years until 1980. Her greatest joy was teaching kids how to swim.
She was a graduate of Tolman High School, Class of 1960, and had attended Dean Jr. College. In 1960, she was honored by the Pawtucket YMCA as their Youth of the Year.
She was an active member of Calvin Presbyterian Church, Cumberland, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and served as a Deacon.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Brenda Tillier, and her husband Joseph Reynolds of Johnston and Beth Bloomer of Pawtucket; one son, Paul Tillier of Johnston; two brothers, Robert B. Clarke, Jr. of Palm Harbor, FL and Vance Velletri of Lakeville, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Judith Clarke.
A Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving will be celebrated, Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. in Calvin Presbyterian Church, 126 Angell Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be private.

Kathleen M (Daniel) Hart - West Greenwich, RI
(05/24/14) West Greenwich, RI - Kathleen M. (Daniel) Hart, 61, of Robin Hollow Road and Valrico, FL passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at her home in Florida after a fourteen month battle with leukemia. She was the beloved wife of H. Kenneth Hart.
Born in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late John R. Daniel, USN Ret. and Lorraine M. (Leyman) Daniel.
Kathy loved working (puttering as she called it) around the house and out in the yard. She loved to shop and she loved her dogs. She always enjoyed needlework, especially knitting and crochet. Her family remembers her being very artistic with all of her handmade items and how meticulous she was in all things she did in life. She was the true leader of their family. She was always very caring of everyone else and very attentive to their needs, not hers. Her family is her legacy.
In addition to her husband of 39 years, she is survived by her four children: Kenneth A. Hart & his wife Kathleen of Johnston, RI, Darlene D. Hart of North Providence, RI, Paul S. Hart & his wife Vanessa of Coventry, RI and John M. Hart & his wife Kelly of West Greenwich, RI; two sisters: Cynthia Brown of Coventry, RI and Sheryl Hosley of Warwick, RI; ten grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces & nephews and sister-in-law Doreen Kerzner of North Providence, RI.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI. Lawrence "Larry" J Godek - Lincoln, RI
(05/25/14) LINCOLN – Lawrence J. “Larry” Godek, 92, of Williams Street, died Saturday, May 24, at home. He was the beloved husband of sixty-five years of the late Josephine (Zaborski) Godek.
Born in Plymouth, PA, a son of the late Frank and Teophila (Mazurkiewicz) Godek, he grew up in Taunton, Mass., and later built his home in Lincoln, where he and his wife lived for more than sixty years.
Mr. Godek was a World War II Army veteran, earning a Bronze Star, and numerous medals, while serving in the European Theatre.
Following the war, Mr. Godek graduated from New England Tech, and went on to work as a Civilian Government Employee, managing Nike Missile sites in Rhode Island. He later worked as the Maintenance Supervisor at the Community College of Rhode Island-Flanagan Campus.
He was an active communicant of Saint Jude Church, Lincoln, serving as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the American Radio Relay League, the Blackstone Valley Historical Society, the Lincoln AARP and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Uncle Larry’s sense of humor and love for life was contagious to everyone. He loved spending time with his family, being outdoors and at the home he built in Lincoln, N.H.
He was the adored “Uncle Larry” of his nieces and nephews, Jeffrey and Kelly Murphy of Douglas, MA, Barbara Zaborski of Kingston, Sharon and Philip Burke of Rochester, N.Y., Kevin and Cheryl Murphy of Summerville, S.C., and Michael and Carolyn Zaborski of Exeter. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Jane Murphy of Douglas, MA, and Helen Gauvin of Penfield, N.Y., and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. He was the uncle of the late David Zaborski and Peter Gauvin, and the brother of the late Walter Godek, Charles Godek, Anthony Godek, Julie Preneta and Angela Zmebiec.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 28 at 9:00 a.m. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. 2014 at West View Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Byrne, Sr. Born in Hamden, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Jordan) Bryant.
Mrs. Byrne was a purchaser for McCloud Optical in Warwick.
She was the beloved mother of Robert J. Byrne, Jr. of Warwick and Cheryl A. Fry and her husband Donald of Coventry. Loving grandmother of three and great grandmother of three. She was the sister of the late Madeline Cessor and Charles Bryant.

Albert A Jackson, Jr. - Cumberland, RI
(05/26/14) Cumberland – Albert A. Jackson, Jr., 81, of Mendon Road died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Bayberry Commons, Burrillville. He was the husband of the late Lois F. (Rainey) Jackson.
Born in Pawtucket a son of the late Albert A. and Florence (McCullough) Jackson, he had lived in Pawtucket for most of his life before moving to Cumberland in 1996.
He was a professional softball player (the first original replacement player) for the King and his Court for 23 years, where he was the longest in-service player. Al and Eddie Feigner developed a special intuition for their behind-the-back pick-off of the runner at first base. Also, their co-ordination of the blindfold pitching routine was incredible, as Al’s eyes were necessary to protect Eddie in case of a line drive. Al coached and won State Championships with the St. Raphael’s Girls, and later, the Lincoln High School Girls Softball Teams. He also won State Championships as the Baseball Coach of the Collette Travel Team in the American Legion League.
Upon his retirement from softball, he also worked as a clerk at the former Lincoln Greyhound Park, Lincoln. He was a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Gayle Bavaro and her partner, David Chan of Las Vegas, NV; two sons, Keith Jackson and his wife, Lynn of Pawtucket and Kevin Jackson and his wife, Patricia of Scituate; one foster daughter, Sandra Ray of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Cheryl Rebello, the grandfather of the late Christopher Jackson, Lee A. Rebello and Corey Bavaro, and the brother of the late Kenneth Jackson and Alice Soltys.

(05/26/14) Susan A. Wright-Belanger, 58, a 40-year resident of Somerset and former resident of “The Landing” Fall River, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Somerset Ridge Nursing Home with family by her side.
She leaves 2 children, Matt Belanger and his wife Tara of Raleigh, No. Carolina and Nikky Jalbert and her husband Billy of Somerset; grandchildren, Gabe, Calvin, Leland and Wesley Belanger and Shelby and William Jalbert; former husband Norman Belanger; siblings, Cheryl Mendes and Charles, Bobby and Mike Wright and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Amelia (Arruda) Wright.
Susan is remembered for her love for her children and grandchildren. Over the years she opened her home to foster caring for several children. She was a long-time advocate for former Congressman Barney Frank. She cared for her late mother Amelia Wright regularly and prior to her passing, and Susan previously attended St John of God Church, St Thomas More Church and Grace Gospel Church.

(05/23/14) Grimaldi, Joseph F., 84, passed away at home on Friday, May 23, 2014. He was the devoted husband of Sarah L. (Fitzgerald) Grimaldi of Warwick. Born in Providence, RI; he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Rose (Mancini) Grimaldi.
Besides his wife Sarah, he is survived by six children: Christine Johnston of West Warwick, Lois Langs of California, Joseph Grimaldi III of Warwick, Keith Grimaldi of Cranston, Jaymie Haley of Cranston and Jacqueline Hogan of Wakefield; eight grandchildren and a brother Jack Grimaldi of New Jersey. Claire M. (Martin) Machado - Fall River, MA
(05/27/14) Claire M. (Martin) Machado, 75, of Highland Ave., Fall River, died Monday, May 26, 2014 following a courageous battle against a period of declining health. She was the wife of the former Fall River Public Schools Performing Arts Director, Edmond “Mitch” Machado.
A High Honors Graduate of the former Mount St. Mary High School, she was employed by the former Fall River Trust Co., Bank of Boston and the Fall River Public Schools Special Education Department.
She was a Charter Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a Salvation Army Food Program Volunteer, a longtime supporter of the Little Theater of Fall River, a Holy Name Parish CCD Teacher and was active in the Cursillo Movement. She enjoyed traveling throughout the US and Europe and “getting lost” on long drives.
Besides her husband of 50 years she leaves 3 children, Matthew Machado of Fall River, Peter Machado and his wife Michaella of Fairfax, VA and Julie Machado of Fall River; a granddaughter, Sarah Machado of Freetown; siblings, Lorraine Silveira and Rita Cyr, both of Swansea and Raymond Martin of Somerset and nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Alberta (Desbiens) Martin and the sister of the late Donald and Norman Martin.

(05/27/14) Thomas P. Bérubé, 57, of Lake Ave., Fall River, formerly of Berube Ave., Somerset, husband of Susan (Amaral) Berube and son of Martha (Pelletier) Berube of Tiverton and the late Wilfred A. Berube, died at home, Monday, May 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
A chef, he was employed by Somerset Grill and was a Life Member and President of Seaconnet Sportsman’s Club. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed boating, travel and cooking.
Besides his wife of 30 years and mother, he leaves 2 children, Joshua J. Berube and his wife Sarah of Tiverton and Nicole E. Berube and her fiancé Brian DeAlmeida of Fall River; siblings, David W. (05/27/14) Lincoln – Richard C. St. Onge, 71, of Old Main Street, Manville died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine (Gagnon) St. Onge.
Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Lucien and Alice (Richard) St. Onge, he had lived in North Smithfield for 26 years and Woonsocket for 5 years before moving to Manville 6 years ago.
Mr. St. Onge worked as a vehicle maintenance man for the Rhode Island Air National Guard, North Smithfield for 15 years and later as a painter at Bryant University before retiring in 1997. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran.
He loved fishing and boating, and vacationing on his property in Wilton, Maine. He loved traveling to visit family all of the time. He was a member of the Albion Social Club and the Carolina Beach (NC) American Legion.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Wayne St. Onge and one daughter, Jennifer Lozeau, both of Manville; two sisters, Lucille Parenteau of Cumberland and Constance Stead and her husband, Andy of Carolina Beach, NC; two brothers, Robert St. Onge and his wife, Jeanne of Alpharetta, GA and Roger St. Onge and his wife, Jean of Bowling Green, KY; three grandchildren, Kristin St. Onge of Johnston, Michael St. Onge of Woonsocket and Nathan St. Onge of Manville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the wife of the late Charles J. Donnelly. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (McKenna) Giblin.
Marjorie was a devout parishioner at St. Paul’s for over half a century. She was loved dearly by all who knew her and will be missed by her family and many friends.

Mary was a graduate of St. Xaviers Academy class of 1944 and attended Pembroke College in Brown University for 2 years. She retired from Amica Insurance and Amica Life Insurance in 1984 after over 35 years. She was elected to the Amica Life Hall of Fame in February 2006. Mary was a member of the St. Xaviers Alumnae Association, The Rosary & Alter Sodality of the Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston and past member of the Mt. Pleasant Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by her cousin Mary E. Mollica and Michael P. Chuey III both of Cranston, her niece Lynn Hasney and grand niece Nicole of CA. and nephew Chris Hasney of Az. She was the sister of the late James F. Hasney.

(05/29/14) Cumberland – Linda J. (Williams) Hicks, 65, of Dexter Street died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Harry Hicks.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Larue and Cora L. (Shelton) Williams.
Mrs. Hicks was a textile worker and had worked for Sanford-White in Pawtucket and Health-Tex in Cumberland. She later worked as a bus monitor for the Cumberland School Department before retiring.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Harry Hicks, Jr.; one sister, Carolyn Williams; four brothers, Thomas Williams, Willie Williams, Edward Williams and Dennis Williams; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Brenda Williams and Jeffrey Williams.
Her funeral service will be celebrated MONDAY, JUNE 2 at 12 Noon at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pawtucket. Nancy D (Dean) Brindle - Warwick, RI
(05/28/14) Brindle, Nancy D., 90, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Brindle.
Born in Warwick she was a daughter of the late George H. and Florence (Brown) Dean. A very faithful Christian, Nancy was an active member of Norwood Baptist Church, Warwick and its Norbakirk Womens Group. She enjoyed knitting, playing cribbage and was a rabid Boston Red Sox fan.
An avid bowler, Nancy holds the Rhode Island Duckpin Bowlers Association Recognized State Record for Doubles-Mixed High 3 Game Set. In 1981, Nancy (score of 505) and her partner Don Coutemanche (score of 527) bowled a combined 3 game set total of 1032 during a tournament at the Garden City Lanes in Cranston. In 1998 she was elected into the RIDBA Hall of Fame.
She is survived by five children: David R. Brindle & his wife Marge of Sarasota, FL, Richard D. Brindle of Foster, Barbara B. Noonan & her husband Frank of Annapolis, MD, Dean P. Brindle of Warwick and Jane Cartwright & her husband Gary of Seekonk, MA; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Lucy B. Burke and George H. Dean, Jr.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2 at 10:00 AM at Norwood Baptist Church, Budlong Avenue, Warwick. Burial in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston will be private.

Elizabeth A (Grant) Felici - Warwick, RI
(05/30/14) Elizabeth A. (Grant) Felici, 89, of Warwick passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Sunnyview Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Mario O. Felici. Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (McKenna) Grant.
Mrs. Felici was a Feature Writer for the Providence Journal, a Freelance Writer for the Kent County Daily Times. She had her own radio show on WWRI Getting To Know You and was featured on Salty\'s Shack with Salty Brine and on Dialing for Dollars.
She was the beloved mother of Ronald Felici and his wife Cecile of West Warwick, Paula Felici and her husband Frank DiMasi of Palm Coast, FL, Joyce Felici and her husband Paul Leclerc of East Greenwich, Elizabeth Felici and her husband Kenneth Gil of West Warwick and Mia Felici and her husband Kurt Walters of Collinsville, CT. Loving grandmother of Ryan and Alex Walters, Felicia Farrell, Alicia Kamm, Ronda Felici, Mario Felici and Nicole Nelson. Cherished great grandmother of Maxwell Farrell, Felicity Kamm, Calvin Nelson and Wyatt Nelson. She was the sister of the late Vincent Grant.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 8:30-9:30 am in THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Christ The King Church, 120 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will be private.
