(07/31/12) Cumberland – Maria A. (dos Santos) Ribeiro, 106, of Emerald Bay Manor died Sunday, July 29, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Angelo R. de Almeida Ribeiro.
Born in Portugal a daughter of the late Eduardo and Maria dos Santos, she had lived in Cumberland for the past 52 years.
Mrs. Ribeiro was a weaver before retiring and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland. She was an avid gardener, a tremendous cook and a collector of fine linens.
She is survived by two daughters, Dolores Monacelli of Narragansett and Angela Ribeiro of Cranston; two sons, George Ribeiro of San Diego, CA and Edward Ribeiro of Cumberland; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose dos Santos.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held FRIDAY, AUGUST 3 at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

(07/31/12) Pawtucket – Mary V. (Kelley) Glaude, 84, of Benefit St., passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, July 27, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo A. Glaude, Sr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Lillian T. (McNally) Kelley, she resided in Pawtucket since 1957. Mary was employed by the American Insulated Wire Company for thirty-eight years, spending the last twenty-five years of her career as an administrative assistant. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Leo the Great for the past sixty years. She leaves two sons, Leo A. Glaude, Jr. of Warren and David Glaude of Seekonk; a daughter, Karen A. Barnabe of North Attleboro; four grandchildren, Jessica L. Cooke, Matthew Glaude, Steven E. Reis, Jr. and Nicholas S. Reis and two great-grandchildren, Jacoby T. Cooke and Emma G. Reis. She was the sister of the late Edward J. Kelley and Claire DiChiara. (08/01/12) Rocca Mary Turillo, passed away peacefully Tuesday at her home in Warwick. Born in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Michele and Maria J. (Securo) Turillo.
Miss Turillo was an Executive Secretary for Atlantic and Pacific (A&P). She attended Bristol Public Schools, graduated from Colt Memorial High School and attended Brown University School of Journalism and the Providence Comptometer School. She was also a writer for the Bristol Phenix Newspaper and Italian American Massachusetts Gazette.
Mary was a communicant of St. Paul Church in Cranston, Past Regent of St. Paul Circle of the Daughters of Isabella and member of St. Benedict Circle of the Daughters of Isabella.
She was the beloved sister of Rev. B. Samuel Turillo, Pastor Emeritus of Sacred Heart Church, with whom she lived in Warwick, Fran Zimmerman and her husband Roy of Florida and the late Michael J. Turillo, Bridget Bolvin, Elia Riccardi and Theresa Blain. Loving aunt of several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

James V Cambio - Smithfield, RI
(08/01/12) Cambio, James Vincent, 55, died suddenly on Saturday, July 28, 2012. He was born in Providence, RI on November 25, 1956. He is survived by his wife Bambilyn Breece Cambio, former RI State Representative of North Providence and Johnston, his father Vincent A. Cambio, Jr., and sister Jo-Ann Cambio both of North Providence. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary W. (Higgins) Cambio, on November 13, 2008. James and his wife also became citizens of Ireland in 2004 providing them dual citizenship in the United States and the European Union.
James graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1974. He graduated from Suffolk University in 1978 and Suffolk Law School in 1981. James became a member of the RI Bar Association and was certified as an attorney and counselor of the RI Supreme Court in 1981 permitting him to practice in all courts within the State of Rhode Island. In 1997 James was admitted and qualified as an attorney and counselor of the United States Supreme Court, permitting him to practice before that court.
James had maintained a private law practice from 1981 through 1988 until he worked full time for the State of Rhode Island as an attorney within the Department of Revenue, Division of Taxation. For the past four years his position in the division was Chief of Estate and Gift Taxes. During James’ college years and professional years he also worked part time for RI Hospital Security, Mark Hutchinson and Associates as a surveyor, and Bradley Hospital Security department. He worked in the Fiscal Department at St. Joseph Hospital as a collection representative until 1988.
He showed interest in politics as a youngster and later became a member of the Young Democrats, helping local and state candidates with their campaigns. James became a member of the North Providence Democratic Town Committee and served on the North Providence School Committee for 16 years, serving two of those years as Chairman. James moved from North Providence to Smithfield in 2002, at which time he became a member of the Smithfield Democratic Town Committee until present.
James was also a member of ALPCA (American License Plate Collectors Association) and enjoyed networking with fellow members during national conventions and local chapter shows. Many individuals describe James as a generous and compassionate person who was always willing to help others with his time. Oftentimes he did pro-bono or reduced fee legal work for individuals in an effort to help them during their time of need.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 3rd from 3:30-7:30 PM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. (08/01/12) Pawtucket - Brenda L. Gustafson, 63, a resident of the South County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, North Kingstown for the past two years died Monday, July 30, 2012 at South County Hospital in South Kingstown.
She was a former resident of Pawtucket and had worked as a security guard.
She is survived by her mother Mary Garvey of East Greenwich, six children: Tracy Kowalski of Westerly, RI, Maryann Kowalski of Fall River, MA, Kim Kowalski of Rehoboth, MA, Robert Kowalski of MD, Roy Gustafson, Jr. of Providence and Brenda Gustafson II of Cumberland; one sister: Patricia; two brothers: Phillip Garvey and Peter Garvey both of Warwick; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father John Garvey, by her daughter Lynette Magliocchetti and by her brothers Jack and Paul Garvey.

He was the husband of Mathilda (Therrien) DiCaprio. Born in West Warwick, RI he was the son of the late Pasquale and Concetta (LaPosta) DiCaprio.
He worked in construction for many years for Perrine Construction and was also the owner of Phil\'s Barber Shop in Crompton, West Warwick for many years.
He is survived by four children; Concetta \"Connie\" Wilbert, Phyllis A. Allsworth, Amelia \"MiMi\" Tremblay, and Phillip DiCaprio. He was the brother of Pat, Al, Dante, and Victor DiCaprio and grandfather to ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter. He was predeceased by his sisters; Amelia and Josephine DiCaprio, Antoinetta Palazzo, Antoinette Muschiano and Livia Mann,
and his brothers; Vincenzo \"JJ\" and Benny DiCaprio and Peter Ciccarone.

(08/01/12) Norma E. (Martin) Leonhardt, 90, of Scalabrini Nursing Home died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Married for 68 years, she was the beloved wife of William D. Leonhardt of North Kingstown. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Neppie (Woodmansee) Thornton.
Mrs. Leonhardt was Chapter President of the Rainbow Girls and worked as a typist at Grinnell Company until she retired to raise her family. She enjoyed automobile trips, knitting and outdoor activities. She was a tremendous cook.
Besides her husband William, she is survived by two daughters: Carol Hagenberg and husband Albert of Warwick and Sandra Merdinyan and companion Peter Santini of West Warwick; two sons: William Leonhardt Jr. of Mississippi and Gary Leonhardt and companion Lucia Cabral of West Warwick; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Mildred James and Ann Parkinson.

He was a World War II and Korean War, US Air Force veteran, and was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for many years. Constance was born in Central Falls, she was a daughter of the late George and Almoza (Champagne) Beauregard. She was a member of the Royal Travelers and the Leon A. Mathieu Senior Center, Pawtucket. Donald J Shurtleff, Sr. - West Warwick, RI
(08/03/12) West Warwick - Donald J. Shurtleff, Sr., USMC, Ret., 78, of Pepin Street died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Anna M. (DeRosa) Shurtleff. Mr. and Mrs. Shurtleff celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on October 25, 2011.
Born in Providence he was a son of the late Edwin and Blanche (Lessard) Shurtleff. During his twenty years of service in the United States Marine Corps, he served three tours of duty in Vietnam before retiring at the rank of gunnery sargent on July 31, 1973. He then worked for seventeen years as a shipfitter for General Dynamics’ Electric Boat Division, Quonset Point.
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter Robin Nunes and her husband Donald of Hope Valley; his son Donald J. Shurtleff, Jr. and his wife Christine of West Warwick; his sister Ruth Giammarco of Warwick; his brother Edward Shurtleff of Scituate and by his five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jillian and Ian Shurtleff, Eric and Sara Nunes.
His family is remembering him as a disciplined man who lived his life believing “once a Marine, always a Marine” and as someone who loved his grandchildren, especially camping with them. His favorite pastime was reading and he loved following the New England Patriots.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Interment with military honors will follow. (08/03/12) Linda (Viveiros) Viveiros passed away July 5, 2012 in Ocala, FL surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Raymond Viveiros and daughter of the late Manuel A. and Lucy Viveiros. Linda was co-owner of White House Reality in Fall River until her retirement. She was a former volunteer in the activities dept. at the Catholic Memorial Home where she shared her love of painting with the residents.
Linda was the mother of Dawn Tate Cady of Etna, NH, Judy Viveiros of Cranston, Melissa Winters (husband Mark) of Sudbury and Melanie Brophy (husband David) of Dublin, Ireland. She was the sister of Barbara Mello (husband Raymond) and Roxanne Russell of Somerset, Judy St. Pierre (husband Richard) of Swansea and Betty Longacre (husband David) of Norton.
Linda loved spending time with her grandchildren Kristin and Justin Tate, Samuel Hunt, Benjamin, Sarah and Ryan Winters and Elena, Niall and Maxwell Brophy. She will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.

Robert "Bob" E Malo - Warwick, RI
(08/05/12) Robert E. \"Bob\" Malo, 78, of Warwick passed away Saturday at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles O. and Eunice M. (Wright) Malo.
Mr. Malo was an Accountant at Quonset Naval Air Station from 1957 until 1974 and V.A. Hospital in Boston from 1974 until his retirement in 1992, after 35 years of civil service. He was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Committee of Greenwood Credit Union in 1993 where he served until his retirement in 2006. He was a graduate of Nelson B. Aldrich High School, class of 1955 and Bryant College, class of 1955 where he received his B.A. and B.S. Degrees. Bob was a lifelong member of Hillsgrove United Methodist Church now Open Table of Christ. He was a member of the Dahlia Society of Rhode Island and received many awards including Best of Show for his prize Dahlias.
He is survived by his lifelong friend Aline Nugent of Pawtucket, his goddaughter Janet (Willett) Kennedy of Helena, AL, formerly of Warwick, and several cousins.

(08/05/12) Oren E. Chace, 92, of Bushee Rd., Swansea, husband of the late Irma (Mahoney) Chace, died Friday, August 3, 2012.
An Army veteran of WW II, he was a farmer and Swansea School Bus driver, owned and operated a “Pick Your Own Strawberries” business for many years on Bushee Road, and was employed by Read’s Dairy and American Auto Auction. An avid card player, he frequented the Swansea Fire Barn.
He leaves two children, Oren E. Chace, Jr. and his wife Donna of Charleston, SC and Ellen Botelho and her husband Michael of Coventry, RI; grandchildren, Katlyn and Kyle Chace and Sean and Scott Botelho; a brother, Arthur Chace of Syracuse, NY and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Howard and Edith (Eldridge) Chace and the brother of the late Gladys, Richard and Earl Chace.
Following cremation, his service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 GAR Highway, (corner Maple Ave.) Swansea.

Donald E Maymon - Warwick, RI
(08/04/12) Warwick- Donald E. Maymon, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Kent Hospital. Married for 56 years, he was the husband of Elsie M. (Schielein) Maymon of Warwick.
Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Edson and Irene (Shaw) Maymon. Mr. Maymon graduated from Pawtucket High School West in 1949 and received a marketing degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1953. He was a Korean War era United States Army veteran.
He was employed by Jordan Marsh’s training department in Boston; at the New York Lace Store in Pawtucket and was a manager for one of several stores for Emblem and Badge retiring in 1995.
He was a member and a past master counselor of the Pawtucket DeMolay Chapter. As a Mason he belonged to Jenks Lodge #24 A.F. &A.M., Pawtucket; the Scottish Rite Valley of Providence; the York Rite: Harmony Chapter #15 R.A.M., Doric Council #7 and Thomas Smith Webb Commandary K.T.; the Swords of Bunker Hill and the Rhode Island Shriners where he was a member and past chief of the Artisans Unit.
He was a lifelong member of the Tropical Fish Society of Rhode Island where he served as President, Vice President and show chairman.
Besides his wife Elsie, he is survived by his son Jeffrey D. Maymon and his wife Leslie (VanSant) of Narragansett and his grandchildren Zane and Hannah Maymon both of Narragansett.
A funeral service will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home and Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Thursday, August 9 at 10 AM followed with interment at Moshassuck Cemetery in Central Falls. (08/06/12) Pawtucket - Martha F. (DeRoche) Bibby-Boucher, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 5, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Conrad “Butch” O. Boucher. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Annie (Tally) DeRoche. She leaves three children, Sandra Mellen, Walter Bibby and Michael R. Bibby, Sr. all of Pawtucket; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. (08/06/12) Pawtucket – Kenneth J. Lawrence, 51, of Pawtucket, RI and West Yarmouth, MA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 4, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Kut) Lawrence, they would have celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in September. Born in Providence, he was the son of Donald R. and Patricia A. (Perry) Lawrence of Pawtucket. Ken was an ERP Project Manager for the James Monroe Wire & Cable Company, South Lancaster, MA for the past six years and was previously employed by Axis Computer Systems, Marlborough, MA. He was an avid bowler and golfer, and enjoyed tinkering with computers. Ken was the Vice-president of the Monday Night Live Bowling League, East Providence and the Vice-president of their West Yarmouth Condo Association. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves two sisters, Kathryn M. Goushakjian of Pawtucket and Brenda L. Crompton and her husband, John of Greenville, RI and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
