(02/04/13) Cumberland – Charles A. Vaslet, 93, of Chambers Street and formerly of Reservoir Avenue, Lincoln died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Grandview Center, Cumberland. He was the husband of the late Corinne M. (Goyette) Vaslet. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late George J. and Carrie M. (Corrigan) Vaslet, he had lived in Lincoln for 59 years before moving to Cumberland 4 years ago. Mr. Vaslet was a machinist at Hope Webbing and Pawtucket Fastener for many years before retiring in 1984. He was a graduate of Attleboro High School and was a World War II Army veteran. He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Maxwell Fote and her husband, Steven of Bridgeton, NJ and formerly of Lincoln; one son, Charles A. Vaslet, PhD. and his wife, Norma of North Attleboro, MA; six grandchildren; two great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George, Edward, Howard, Milton, Albert, Carrie and Laura Vaslet, and Ann Gregg and Dorothy Holcomb. His funeral will be held THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 7 at 8 A.M. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 A.M. in St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Born in Wakefield, she was the daughter of Kenneth R. and Laureen D. (Tessier) Young of West Greenwich and the granddaughter of Grace M. and the late Robert B. Young and Illona I. and the late Lawrence N. Tessier. Sherri was self employed as a medical transcriptionsist who had many passions including photography, music, art and she had a great love for dogs. She was known for many things, including her wit and her will. She also loved the southwest and resided in New Mexico for several years. She enjoyed the desert landscape and the mountains that she could view from the window of her home in Albuquerque. She was the sister of Andrew M. Young of Coventry and his wife Kimberly, Michelle D. Curran of Sterling, CT and her husband John, Christopher C. Young of Quincy, MA and his fiancé Liza and Richard E. Young of Saratoga Springs, NY and his wife Katherine. She also leaves eight nieces and nephews: Aidan R. Young, Callie A. Young, Aaron J. Young, Shaelynn M. Young, Elizabeth G. Curran, Jonathan P. Curran, Shamus D. Curran and Thomas R. Curran and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. (Dean) Ambler. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Goepfert. Mother of Ronald F. Goepfert of Newport, Geraldine L. Follansbee of Coventry, Deborah G. Coletta and her husband Edmond of Warwick, and Frances L. Rooney and her husband Patrick of Kalamazoo, MI. She was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchildren. She enjoyed bicycling, walking, traveling, reading, hooking rugs, and other needlework, but most of all, her loving family. A private celebration of her life will be held. Born in Hong Kong, he was the founder of the China Inn in Pawtucket with his son, Louis Yip and his son-in-law, Tsi Lee. He was a member of the Chinese Christian Church of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. He is survived by one son, Louis Yip and his wife, Florence of Providence; two daughters, Kwai Ying Lee of Lincoln and Jenny Leung and her husband, Eric of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Damon Yip and his wife, Macy Tay, Herman and Edmond Yip, Angela Lee, Shirley Lee and her husband, Michael, Basil Lee, Sarah and Stephanie Leung; his great grandchildren, Megan and Abigail Yip, and Kilian Lee Scott. Mr. Ip is also survived by his sister, Ip May and her husband, Sit Hoi of Hong Kong. (02/05/13) Mario Patalano, 88, of Wakefield Street, West Warwick passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Coventry Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was married for fifty six years to Blanche L. (Calci) Patalano. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Vincent and Phyllis (Marino) Patalano. Mario was a Supervisor for American Tourister for forty years until his retirement in 1986. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran and also worked at Jerry’s Supermarket in West Warwick. He loved his family and his dog, Ernie. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons; Steven M. Patalano and his wife Susan, Gary M. and his fiancée Dulce Langhan and Mark V. Patalano, and a daughter; Sandra M. Amato and her husband Eric, six grandchildren; Gary, Ryan, Derek, and Corey Patalano, Jennie McLeod, and Erin Lopes, and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers; Albert and Domenic Patalano, four sisters; Jennie Montiquila, Faye Patalano, Mary D’Ambra, and Isabelle Rossi. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, Providence Street, West Warwick, RI, followed by Military Honors at the church. Muzzetta was born in Kingston on June 14, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Clifford F. and Aleathia J. (Martin) Potter. Muzzetta attended South Kingstown High School in Wakefield, RI and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She lived in Kansas City, Kansas before returning and settling in Providence, RI. She is survived by her sisters Sarah Hall of Brooklyn, NY and Lillian Jordan of Providence, RI; and sister in law Marion Potter of Roxbury, MA. Several nieces and nephews and a multitude of beloved relatives and friends to fondly cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her brothers Edward, Clifford, Jr., Perry and Charles and her sister Elizabeth Owens. An Army veteran of WW II and a graduate of BMC Durfee High School and New England College of Pharmacy, he practiced pharmacy at the Paul Dever State School for 32 years. She was the wife of the late Francis A. McCabe. Born in Cumberland, a daughter of the late William J. and Emma G. (McCauley) Sword, she had lived in Rumford for the past 53 years. Marion was a 1938 graduate of Cumberland High School and a 1942 graduate of Rhode Island College of Education, now Rhode Island College. Marion was very active at St. Michael & All Angels Church, now the Church of the Epiphany in Rumford, where she served on the vestry, was an usher and Bazaar Chairman. She was also very active for 40 years with the RI Chapter of the March of Dimes where she was the State Volunteer Advisor and started the Knitting Hats For Newborns Program. She was a former member of Wannamoisett Country Club. Marion is survived by six children, Carol M. Correia of Huntington Beach, CA, Barbara M. Newton of Seekonk, MA, Paul B. McCabe of Thailand, Joan D. McCabe of New York City, NY, Christine M. Tomlinson of Newburyport, MA and Melanie M. Martin of Houston, TX; thirteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was the husband of Muriel A. (Carosi) Woodcock for 44 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas F. and Bertha (Kraigenow) Woodcock. Rollie was the owner of Rollie’s Skate Shop, Rumford for 36 years. During his career, he sharpened skates at the Rhode Island Auditorium for the RI Reds; PC Friars men and women teams; Brown University men and women teams and many other college teams, as well as local area youth teams; high schools and men’s leagues. Besides his wife, he leaves his beloved children, Mori and her husband, Scott Dorval and Rollie, Jr. and his wife, Debra (McCallum) Woodcock all of North Attleboro; his precious grandchildren, Sydney Rose Dorval, Audrey Elizabeth Woodcock and Jack Roland Woodcock; his siblings, Thomas (Tina) Woodcock of Hebron, CT, Edward Woodcock of Warwick, Marilyn (William) Nobrega of Pawtucket and the late Carol Woodcock. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Dwyer) Faulkner. George attended St. Leo the Great School and was a Class of 1957 graduate of St. Raphael Academy. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked at Jostens, Attleboro for many years until his retirement. He was a former member of Pharaoh’s Car Club and the Bristol County Street Rod Association. George enjoyed collecting stamps; photographs; automotive toys and various hot rods over the years. He also loved to listen to Rock and Roll music. Besides his loving wife, he leaves two sons, George A. Faulkner, Jr. and James P. Faulkner both of Pawtucket; a brother, Edward Faulkner of Pawtucket and many nieces and nephews. Washburn for 55 years. Born in Providence, R.I. to the late Ralph C. and Francis (Roach) Berker, Mrs. Washburn graduated from Samuel Gorton High School in Warwick. As a young woman she worked as the office manager for her father\'s business, R.C. Berker Co. Inc. in Johnston, and later, while raising her three sons, enjoyed work as a sales associate at the Ann & Hope in Warwick. She was the loving mother of Richard R. Washburn, Jr. and his wife Susan of Cary, North Carolina, Robert J. Washburn of West Warwick, and Gary J. Washburn and his wife Pamela of Moretown, Vermony. Mrs. Washburn was also the cherished grandmother of Keith, Andrea, Elissa, John, Mariel, and Julia Washburn. Mrs. Washburn was the aunt of Ralph Berker of Charlestown and the sister of the late Ralph C. Berker Jr. and the late James Berker. She was also the former mother-in-law of Susan B. (02/08/13) Vincent J. Faulise, 85, of Faulise Avenue, Pawcatuck, passed away on Thursday morning, February 7, 2013 at the Westerly Hospital. He is survived by his former wife, Marilyn L. (Jones) Faulise of Hope Valley; his son and daughter-in-law, John A. Faulise and Sandra J. Carmichael of Westerly; his daughter Fay L. Faulise of Pawcatuck; his daughter and son-in-law, Julie A. and Lawrence McNeill of Pawcatuck; four grandchildren, Lisa Johnson, Nick Faulise, Ellen Faulise and Eric Faulise; his brother, Sam (Anita) Faulise of Wethersfield, CT; and two sisters, Frances (John) Campbell and Josephine (Ray) Burns. Mr. Faulise was pre-deceased by his son, Michael J. Faulise (Marie Ladd) and brothers Joseph (Elsie), Jack (Claire) and John (Dorothy) and sisters Margaret (Clell) Donald, Mary (Arthur) Woods, Rose (Joseph) Henry and Kathryn (Tom) Piccolo. Vincent’s social life centered around his family, and he especially enjoyed sharing life lessons with his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Mr. Faulise was born in Pawcatuck on December 11, 1927, the son of the late Antonio and Rosa (Limanni) Faulise. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Parish and a member of the Maria Assunta Society and the Italian-American Club. He was a carpenter and proud lifetime member of Connecticut Carpenters Union Local #24. He built and resided in homes on Faulise Avenue and became a licensed Real Estate Broker in Connecticut and Rhode Island. He was devoted to the betterment of the town of Stonington: he served on the Board of Education from 1962 to 1969; remained active in town affairs through his work with the Concerned Citizens for Better Government; and joined a group of citizens who advocated for, and won, approval for a Post Office in Pawcatuck. His love of sports grew from his remarkable career as a cross country runner at Stonington High School, where he was Captain of the Cross Country Team for three years. “The Little Bear” led his team to the Eastern Connecticut Conference Championship twice, and his individual accomplishments in cross-country competition are unique standouts in Stonington High School athletics. Later in life he became an avid golfer and sports fan of the Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team. (02/10/13) Warwick - Dolores (Telles) deMedeiros, 79, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Kent Regency in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Alvaro L. deMedeiros who passed away one month ago on January 7, 2013. Born in East Providence she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Florence (Labao) Telles. Mrs. deMedeiros worked as an assistant manager, employed by T.W. Rounds. She is survived by her three children: Arthur deMedeiros and wife Edna of West Warwick, George deMedeiros and wife Joanne of Johnston and Cynthia Dugas of Cranston; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 10:30 at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. (02/10/13) Joan (Bodwell) Bolduc, 88, of Tiverton, wife of the late Roy P. Bolduc, died Friday, February 8, 2013. In 1946 she, along with her late husband and his brother Lester founded Bolduc’s Lumber Co., Fall River. She was a member of the Amicable Congregational Church Social Club, Tiverton and the Classy Ladies. Born in Salem, New Hampshire, she was a graduate of the former Woodbury High School, now Salem High School, Class of 1942 and the Bryant-McIntosh School of Business, Lawrence, MA, Class of 1943 and was employed by the Bolta Company, Lawrence. She leaves 3 children, Richard L. Bolduc (Sharon Ireland) of Fall River, Paul L. Bolduc (Sue), and Kathy Furtado (Gregory), all of Tiverton; grandchildren, Mark, Adam and Andrew Bolduc, Tracy Andrews, Thomas and James Carr and Meredith and Neil Furtado; 4 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Richard K. and Minnie S. (Weinhold) Bodwell and the sister of the late Richard Bodwell. Visitation Wednesday from 3:30 to 7:30 PM in the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So.
