(02/20/13) Leo R. Horton, 94, of Warwick passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at West View Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Grace M. (Cockshutt) Horton. They had been married for 60 years. Born in Towner, Colorado, he was a son of the late Leo O. and Bonnie M. (Roberts) Horton.
Mr. Horton was an Examiner and Evaluator for The United States Government for 25 years, retiring in 1973. He proudly served in The United States Navy during WWII. A past Master of King Solomon Lodge F&AM of East Greenwich, he was also a member of NARFE, Warwick Central Baptist Church, the Asbury Coasters and Order of the Eastern Star Ada Chapter.
He was the beloved father of Shirley A. Puckett of Coventry and Bonnie L. Morton of Atkinson, NH. Loving grandfather of six and great-grandfather of six. Caring brother of Guy V. Horton of Emporia, KS, Wilma G. Bennett of Council Grove, KS and the late Donald R. Horton, Leland C. Horton, Dean G. Horton and Peggy R. Colby.
His Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 am in Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday 1-4 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will be private.
