(02/20/13) Raymond Titus, 95 of Warwick died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at West Shore Health Center, Warwick. He was the beloved husband of the late Alma (Murray) Titus. Born in Far Hills, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Earl Smith and Elizabeth (Braunwald) Titus. Mr. Titus served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War aboard the USS Ancon and the USS New Jersey. He was a member of the USS Ancon Association.
He was a Mail Handler Technician for the Main Turnkey Post Office in Providence for 17 years retiring in 1982. He had previously worked at G.E. Monowat as a Wire Machine Operator for several years.
Mr. Titus was a member of St. John’s Lodge #1Providence,F. &AM for 50 years. He was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Providence, Providence Royal Arch Chapter #1, Providence Council #1, Calvary Commandary #13 Knights Templar, the Rhode Island Shriner’s Legion of Honor, Masonic Veterans Assoc., Swords of Bunker Hill, Gaspee Order #99 and Quatuor Coronati Lodge of Research, London, England.
He is survived by his sons, Alan E. Titus of Tucson, AZ, Robert F. Titus of Gateshead, England and his grandson Timothy Titus of Portland, OR.
A funeral service will be held Friday February 22 at 10am at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home and Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave. West Warwick, followed by burial with full Military Honors at the R. I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours will be Thursday 6-8pm with a Masonic Memorial Service by St. John\'s Lodge #1 Providence at 7:30pm.
