(12/26/12) Pawtucket – Agostinho R. Rosa, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Conceicao M. (Fernandes) Rosa. The couple would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on January 18, 2013. Born in St. Miguel, Azores, Portugal, a son of the late Manuel Raposa Rosa and Diamantina Soares Rosa, he came to the United States in 1966 and settled in Pawtucket. Agostinho was employed by Northeast Cable, Attleboro for twenty-eight years until retiring in 1994. Besides his wife, he leaves five children, Sister Maria Rosa, PM of Nashua, NH, Carmel Meagher and her husband, James of Mansfield, MA, Anna Stone and her husband, Stephen of South Kingstown, David Rosa and his wife, Corrie of Cumberland and Sandra Conover and her husband, Casey of Pawtucket; ten grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Maria Rosa Souza, Antonina Costa, Alda Costa, Jose Rosa, Lucia Carlos, Diamantina Matos, Ana Mello and the late Manuel Rosa. His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
