(12/26/12) Coventry - Caterina \"Catherine\" DeMonti, 94, of Woodland Drive and formerly of Regent Avenue in Providence died Thursday, December 20, 2012 in Port Charlotte, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Ercole J. DeMonti.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Pietro and Lauretta (Scolardi) D\'Amico, she lived in Providence before moving to Coventry in 1986. Catherine worked in the jewelry industry employed by Clark & Coombs of Providence for twenty years before retiring in 1980. She was previously employed by Uncas Manufacturing.
She was an avid bowler and a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. For twenty years she was a volunteer at the former Haven Health Center in Coventry.
She is survived by her two daughters: Angela M. Bell of Greene, RI and Geraldine C. Johnson of Norfolk, MA; one son: Paul S. DeMonti of West Warwick; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Lawrence M DeMonti and sister of the late Geraldine Calabro, Olga, Lucy, Joseph, John, Albert and Orlando D\'Amico.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry on a day and time to be announced. Interment in St. Ann\'s Cemetery, Cranston will be private.
