(12/17/12) Pawtucket – James Kacharo, 78, a retired Pawtucket Police Officer, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 16, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (Corr) Kacharo for forty-five years. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Denno and Adrienne (Tsatacos) Kacharo. Jim was a United States Navy Korean War veteran. He began his career with the Pawtucket Police Department on February 14, 1967 and served the City of Pawtucket until retiring on September 4, 1992. He was a member of the Pawtucket Police Association and Jenks Lodge # 24 AF & AM, Pawtucket. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter-in-law, Robin L. Hayes; a granddaughter, Casey Hayes and her husband, Joseph Parrillo; two great-grandchildren, Abigayle and Cameron; a sister, Marion Pollock all of Pawtucket; two brothers, Ted Kacharo of Warwick and Spiro Kacharo of Pawtucket and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late John Hayes, Jr. Services with Military Honors will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Visitation is omitted.
