(03/11/15) FINNERTY, Leonard J. “Lenny”, 83, of Log Bridge Road, Summit, passed away, Sunday, March 8, 2015 at home.
He was the husband of Esther M. (Andrews) Finnerty. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Peter J. and M. Regina (Donahue) Finnerty. He resided in Summit for most of his life.
Mr. Finnerty was a foreman at American Standard for 25 years and the owner of Summit Propane Gas for 15 years before retiring. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran and loved his animals.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Sean M. Finnerty of West Warwick and Gavin W. Finnerty of Cranston; a daughter, Sharon S. Smith of West Greenwich; two brothers, Raymond Finnerty and Peter Finnerty both of Hope; two sisters, Carolyn Edison of Akron, Ohio and Sheila M. Cabral of West Warwick and five grandchildren. He was the brother of the late J. Paul, Robert, Edward, Richard, Dennis and James Finnerty.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 12 noon in the HENAULT – GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
