(02/04/15) Claire V. (Laferriere) Sexton, 79, of Windsor Park Drive, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Sexton with whom she celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on October 20, 2014. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Leo Joseph and Marie Ange (Auger) Laferriere.
She’s enjoyed quilting, sewing, counted cross stitch, cooking, golf, telling jokes, watching real life crime dramas and having her own craft business. She loved all her family all and they loved her in the same. She will be remembered as a woman who was always smiling.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Debra Gagnon & her husband Richard of Coventry and Michelle Carnevale & her husband Anthony of West Warwick; one sister: Muriel Allen of Coventry; two grandsons: James Brady & Richard Gagnon; three granddaughters: Rebecca Martin, whose husband is Matthew Martin, Samantha & Angelina Carnevale and her great grandson, Noah Gagnon.
At her request, her family gathered privately for a viewing, to hear passages of scripture read by her husband and to comfort each other with spoken remembrances. After cremation at White Dove Crematory, inurnment took place in the columbarium at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail in Exeter.
