(02/03/15) Pawtucket – James P. McIntyre, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 2, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Margaret M. (Holleran) McIntyre for 61 years. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Robert, Sr. and Anna (McGeough) McIntyre. Jim was a retired surveyor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a Korean War U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Delaney Council. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, upholding family traditions at his summer home in Point Judith. Jim was very handy, he enjoyed carpentry and working on various projects at his and his family’s homes. Besides his wife, he leaves eight children, Steven J. and John “Jack” McIntyre both of Pawtucket, Nancy J. Beattie and Sheila A. Bozek both of Seekonk, Brian D. McIntyre and his wife, Laura of Santa Maria, CA, David J. and James P. McIntyre and his wife, Patricia all of Pawtucket and Mary E. Botelho and her husband, Kenneth of Seekonk; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother of Robert McIntyre, Jr., the late Joseph McIntyre, Roberta Harris, Gail Holden, Paul McIntyre and Judith Bandieri. VISITATION will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery.
