(10/07/14) Stanley J. Moreira, 68, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Ann C. (Santilli) Moreira. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise (Kachnowicz) Moreira.
Stanley was a retired small business owner and sales representative in the building and construction industry. He proudly served with the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. He was an avid rod and reel fisherman who enjoyed boating and volunteering as a youth baseball coach.
He was the loving father of Joseph D. Moreira and his wife Lisa Giusti of Barrington and Denise Levine and her husband John of Cranston. Stanley was the cherished grandfather of Jonathan and Makayla Levine and the caring brother of Beverly Shechtman and her husband Stuart.
His funeral will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 9:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial with military honors will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm.
