(04/04/14) Ernest A. Malo, CPA, 87, died on Thursday, April 3, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Teresa Pate Malo for 63 years. Born in Warwick, a son of the late Alfred and Marie Louise Carpentier Malo. He was predeceased by his brother, Roland Malo. He was a Warwick resident for most of his life, leaving to serve in the US Army.
Ernie was a CPA for over 40 years. He was the founding member of Malo, Recchia and Company. He was a member of the RI Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated from Brown University in 1951 and Bryant College. He served in the US Army in Korea and Japan.
He taught at Brown University and Bryant College.
He was a talented musician. He played trumpet and piano. As a young man, and during his service years, he organized and played in many bands. He loved swing, Dixieland, and jazz. He spent several summers on Block Island playing at the National Hotel, The Yellow Kittens and The Oar.
He served on the boards of many corporations, notably, the Providence & Worcester Railroad.
He summered for 40 years at Indian Rock Farms, Narragansett where he sailed, fished, quahogged, and enjoyed the serenity with his family.
He is survived by his son Geoffrey Pate Malo, CPA (Laurel) and daughter Leslie Malo Ashworth, RN (Michael). He leaves six grandchildren, Sarah Ashworth Lynch (Thomas), Heather Malo, Joseph Malo, PE (Erin), James Ashworth,MFA, Thomas Ashworth, and Kate Ashworth, BSN, RN.
At the request of the family, visiting hours are omitted. The funeral and burial will be private.

Natalie V (Vogel) Lawton - Westerly, RI
(04/04/14) Natalie V. (Vogel) Lawton, 90, of State Street, Westerly, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014 at the Apple Rehab Watch Hill. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Arthur Newman Lawton on January 25, 1995, whom she met while vacationing at Watch Hill. After they married in 1954, she moved to Westerly. She is survived by her son, Allen D. Lawton of Westerly, her sister-in-law, Mary Lawton of Westerly and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lawton was born in New Bedford, MA on June 30, 1923, the daughter of the late Ellery and Sarah (Lewis) Vogel. She spent her early years in Northampton and Longmeadow, MA. She was a graduate of the Northampton School for Girls (now known as Williston-Northampton Academy), Lasell Junior College (now known as Lasell College) in Newton, MA, and Tobe’ Coburn School in New York City. She majored in merchandising in college and upon graduation from Tobe’ Coburn, she worked in the B. Altman’s department store in NYC and then moved to Hartford where she was a section manager in the former G. Fox & Co. She also worked for Todd’s and Town & Country in South Hadley and Falmouth, MA and as a teller and service department clerk in the Springfield Five Cents Savings Bank. She was a medical librarian for 24 years at the Westerly Hospital and also the medical education coordinator for the medical staff. She was a member of the Rhode Island Health Sciences Library Association, the North Atlantic Health Sciences Librarians and the Medical Library Association. She received certificates in Medical Librarianship at URI and the Postgraduate Medical Institute in Boston. Along with her work at the hospital and community activities, she enjoyed painting and belonged to the Tuesday Painting Group with her friends.
She was a member of Christ Church of Westerly and was the coordinator of the Living Supplies Closet, a community outreach program for which she received the Jefferson Award in the category “Greatest Public Service Benefiting a Local Community.” She was also convenor of the Community Outreach and Service Commission at Christ Church.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at Christ Church, 7 Elm Street, Westerly. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Florence worked for Cherry and Webb of Providence, RI and in the jewelry industry. She also owned and operated a diner in Missouri. She loved her family and life.
She is survived by three children; Walter Pierson, Norma A. Fox and Wallace Pierson and two grandsons; Jim McReynolds and Jason Fox. She was predeceased by a son; Harry Otto.

David Butler - Burrillville, RI
(04/05/14) David Butler, 91, most recently of Pascoag, died on April 4th after a long fulfilling life. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Carter) Butler for 65 years. He was born on February 14, 1923 in Pawtucket, RI, the son of Francis H. and Hattie M. (Dexter) Butler. He grew up in Providence, graduating from Hope High School after serving in WW II.
He was proud to be a World War II Marine Corps combat veteran, having served with the 4th Marine Division, a division which received two presidential citations for action in the Pacific theater. He fought at Roi, Namur, and Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands and finally on Saipan, where he sustained combat injuries. After the war, he trained to become a toolmaker, a career that lasted until his retirement in 1987. He and Helen retired to Palm Beach Gardens, FL, returning to Rhode Island in 1995. He volunteered for many years at Overlook Nursing Home, enjoying the relationships that he made there. During this time he relocated to Pascoag to live with his daughter Sharon and son-in -law Frank, both of whom cared for him lovingly for many years until his passing.
David passed on his love of the ocean to all of his family - for years his weekends and summers were spent with them, cruising and then sailing the waters of Narragansett Bay. He enjoyed being with people and projected a positive attitude throughout his life, finding humor in many aspects of life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children: Sharon Harrington of Pascoag, Audrey Monti of Ellington, CT, Donna Birt of Pawtucket, David Butler of Tampa, FL, Richard Butler of Stafford Springs, CT and James Butler of Marblehead, MA.
Grandchildren Kristin, Russell, Heather, Karen, Lisa, Jennifer, Adam, Kevin, John, Haley, Morgan and Kendall have been a constant source of pride and activity. David was predeceased by his granddaughters Kristin and Lisa.
In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, David is survived by his favorite sister, Hope Rothemich of Pawtucket, as well as many nieces and nephews. His brothers Ernest Arnold and Frank Butler predeceased him.
His funeral with Military honors will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by Services at 11 a.m. in the Historic Swan Point Chapel, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence. Interment will follow. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 63 years, Chester J. Perkins. She is survived by her four children, C. B. Perkins, husband of Terry, of Mystic, Kathy Ferguson, wife of John, of San Diego, CA, Beth Carlson, wife of Duane, of Seattle, WA and Karen Drakos, wife of Jim, of Greenwich, her grandchildren, Matt and Kerry Perkins, Matt Ferguson, Jennifer and Joel Taylor, Kier and Liz Huehnergarth, Erin Huehnergarth, Ryan McLaughlin, and Alex Drakos and seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Grace was pre-deceased by her twin sister Esther Banville.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Mystic on January 15, 1923, the daughter of the late Frank L. and Grace L. (Finegan) Barlow. Grace was a lifelong equestrian who continued riding into her eighties. She was a member of various horse clubs, including the Cross State Trail Riders. Along with her husband, Grace was very active with the 4-H Club. She was a member of the “Ladies of the Cloth” sewing club with her dear friend Thelma Swody and was a lifelong active member of the Road Church in Stonington. Grace lived life to the fullest and never said “no” to an adventure.

Mr. Angell was a Detective Sergeant with the Warwick Police Department until his retirement and was the former owner of Angell s Marina in Warwick. He served with The United States Coast Guard in Port Security during the Korean War.
He was the loving father of Mark F. Angell, David M. Angell and Lynne A. Duffney, all of Warwick. Caring brother of Hilda McNanley of Westport, MA. Cherished grandfather of five. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

(04/09/14) Roy E. Dionne, 88, of Warwick, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Greenwood Center. He was the husband of Yvonne C. (Frazier) Dionne. They were married for over 65 years.
Mr. Dionne was born in Southbridge, MA, a son of the late Leo & Jessie (Gaudreau) Dionne.
Roy was an Assembler/ Machinist for over 20 years at the Leesona Corporation before retiring in 1984. He was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Dennis R. Dionne and his wife Linda of Califon, NJ, a sister Vivian Carvalho of Plainville, MA. He was the grandfather of Danielle Dionne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond Dionne, Roland Dionne, Norman Dionne, Evelyn King and Doris Brown.

(04/09/14) William “Bill” Souza, 69, of Tiverton, husband of Patricia A. “Pat” (Medeiros) Souza, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
A union carpenter he was a member of Local 94, Carpenter’s Union. He was a “jack-of-all-trades” and loved working on cars, especially his ‘69 Camaro. He also enjoyed watching TV, especially wrestling and the Red Sox.
Besides his beloved wife of 47 years, he leaves his sister-in-law, Geraldine Grondin of Westport and his godchildren, Cathy Kalwak of Middletown, Wendy D’Abrosca and her children Michaela Silvia, Samuel Harstad and Gabriel Harstad all of Westport and Kenneth Dias of Tiverton. He was the son of the late William R. Souza and Irene C. (Vincent) Costa and the stepson of the late Manuel S. Costa.

(04/05/14) West Greenwich - Linda MacKenzie, 54, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at home. She was the beloved wife of Scott MacKenzie.
Born in Providence, a daughter of Wilton F. Sjogren Jr. of Morriston, FL and the late Norma A. (Marland) Sjogren, she graduated from Coventry High School in 1977. For over twenty years she had worked as a Veterinarian Tech at Tiogue Veterinary Clinic in Coventry.
Linda was also an accomplished dog breeder, showed dogs as a professional dog handler and was also invited to show at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Her invitation to Westminster was the result of several specialty wins with her English Setter, Tucker. In addition to handling Tucker, Linda successfully brought several breeds in the Sporting Group category to their championship. She was also a member of Eastern Springer Spaniel Club and English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association.
In addition to her husband and father she is survived by her son Justin C. MacKenzie of West Greenwich; her sister Karen Sjogren of Coventry; her brother William Sjogren of West Greenwich and by her nieces & nephews.

(04/09/14) Herbert J. Quinlan, FRFD, Ret., 93, of Fall River, husband of the late Eleanore (Moquin) Quinlan, died Monday, April 7, 2014.
A Navy veteran of WW II, he was a member of the Fall River Fire Department for 30 years and was also employed by the former Corcoran Plumbing Supply. He enjoyed woodworking and making clocks and was a committee member of the Saints Peter and Paul Parish, troop 17, Boy Scouts of America for many years.
He leaves seven children, Donna Pacheco (Robert) and Barbara Ray (William), all of Fall River, Joyce Ducharme (Richard Sears) of Swansea, Thomas J. Quinlan (Anne Marie) of Fall River, Steven Quinlan (Jeanne) of Berkley, Debra Nichols of Fall River and Colleen McAuley of Bristol,. RI; fourteen grandchildren including his caregivers Kristin Ray and William Ray; sixteen great-grandchildren including his caregivers Zachary Ray and Rebecca Ray; a great-great-grandson and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Herbert and Mae (Gifford) Quinlan and the brother of the late Donald Quinlan.

A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Harold H. and Mary T. (Farrell) Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was an appliance repairman for Elwyn TV, Cranston, Shepard Jenkins and Private Appliance, Pawtucket before retiring. He was a former member of the Elks.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member and an usher of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Pawtucket for many years.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon A. Tsangarouli and her husband, Demetrios of Pawtucket and Donna M. DeCrescenzo and her husband, Mark of North Providence; two sons, Harold W. Jackson III and his wife, Barbara of South Attleboro, MA and Robert J. Jackson and his wife, Geraldine of Pawtucket; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Knight, Ruth Miller, Dorothy Meunier, Henry Jackson and William Jackson.
His funeral will be held TUESDAY, APRIL 15 at 9:30 A.M. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Requiem Eucharist at 11 A.M. in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket. Burial, with military honors, will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

(04/11/14) RICITELLI, DOROTHY, 88, of D\'Evan Manor, Cranston passed away Thursday April 10, 2014 at Cherry Hill Manor. Born in Providence a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Condon) Ricitelli.
Miss Ricitelli was a retired Providence School Department Clerk.
She was the sister of the late John Ricitelli and Margaret Johnson.
Dorothy was the beloved aunt of several nieces and nephews.

(04/11/14) CROKE, MARK T., 50, passed away Thursday April 10, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at Roger Williams Hospital. Born in Attleboro, MA a beloved son of Carolyn (Cudworth) Croke and the late Raymond F. Croke, Sr.
Mr. Croke was a store manager for Bob\'s Store, a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Altar Guild.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers; Raymond F. Croke , Jr., and wife Denise and Michael J. Croke and wife Gail. He was the uncle of Chantelle, Haley, Christopher and Justin. Also survived by several cousins.
