(Jones) Faulise of Hope Valley; his son and daughter-in-law, John A. Faulise and Sandra J. Carmichael of Westerly; his daughter Fay L. Vincent’s social life centered around his family, and he especially enjoyed sharing life lessons with his nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Mr. Faulise was born in Pawcatuck on December 11, 1927, the son of the late Antonio and Rosa (Limanni) Faulise. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Parish and a member of the Maria Assunta Society and the Italian-American Club. He was a carpenter and proud lifetime member of Connecticut Carpenters Union Local #24. He built and resided in homes on Faulise Avenue and became a licensed Real Estate Broker in Connecticut and Rhode Island. He was devoted to the betterment of the town of Stonington: he served on the Board of Education from 1962 to 1969; remained active in town affairs through his work with the Concerned Citizens for Better Government; and joined a group of citizens who advocated for, and won, approval for a Post Office in Pawcatuck.
His love of sports grew from his remarkable career as a cross country runner at Stonington High School, where he was Captain of the Cross Country Team for three years. “The Little Bear” led his team to the Eastern Connecticut Conference Championship twice, and his individual accomplishments in cross-country competition are unique standouts in Stonington High School athletics. Later in life he became an avid golfer and sports fan of the Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team.
