(07/24/12) Dorothy (Souza) Couto, age 85 of Fall River passed away July 22, 2012. Born in Swansea, she was the widow of José “Parky” Couto and daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Benevides) Souza. Dorothy was a retired bookbinder at L.B. File Co., a former member of the Our Lady of Health Church Holy Rosary and a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church.
Dorothy was the loving mother of Joseph A. Couto (wife Louella) of Wareham, Stephen J. Couto (wife Beverly), Sheila Ann Rioux (husband Paul) and Jamie Couto, all of Fall River; sister of Mary Bankester and Francis Patten, both of Mobile, AL and the late John B. Souza and Adeline Souza; grandmother of 6, great grandmother of 7, great great-grandmother of 1 and an aunt to Linda Ferreira and several other nieces and nephews.
Her PRIVATE funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River WEDNESDAY at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in SS Peter & Paul Parish of Holy Cross Church at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
