(11/03/12) Cumberland – Clifford A. Golembiesky, 83, passed away peacefully at the Philip Hulitar In-Patient Hospice Center, Providence on August 9, 2012. He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred (Smith) Golembiesky. They were married for 55 years. He was the loving father of Robin M. Bejma and her husband James, Clifford S. Golembiesky and his wife Marie, Holly S. Savage and her husband James, and Jason A. Golembiesky. He was the devoted “Poppie” of eight grandchildren, Jessica L. Bejma, Rebecca L. Theroux, Kirsten L. Murnighan, Sarah M. Morrison, Amy-Jean S. Shields, Jesse H. Golembiesky, Joshua J. Golembiesky, and Justin A. Golembiesky. He was the proud “Poppie” of five great grandchildren, Olivia Leigh and James Charles Murnighan, Bella G. and Mia M. Morrison, and Owen Michael Shields. He was the proprietor and president of G & F Automotive and G & F Realty in Pawtucket. He served as a military police officer in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout Troop leader for many years, well into his retirement. He enjoyed his many years of involvement with the Cumberland Grange and Arnold Mills Community-Ites. He was an avid sportsman enjoying fishing, hunting, archery, canoeing, skiing, and off-road motorcycling. He enjoyed his yearly deer hunting trips to remote areas of Maine and annual vacations to Bermuda with his wife, Mildred. As an active member of St. Mary’s Church in North Attleboro, Mass., he volunteered many hours creating wooden crafts for the Annual Christmas Bazaar. Clifford was a “master of all trades” and a true craftsman. His proudest accomplishment was his restoration of his home, Echo Hill Farm, one of the original historic farms in Cumberland. Clifford and Mildred lovingly restored this antique colonial house to its original beauty with countless hours of work and determination. It was truly their labor of love and vision for the family for generations to come. They found true joy in decorating their home for all of the holidays, not only for their pleasure, but also for all the community to enjoy. For many years, their home won local holiday decorating contests. Clifford will be remembered as not, only a devoted husband, father and grandfather, but a man of kindness and generosity to all. Always lending a helping hand, he gave selflessly not only to family and friends, but also to strangers. He helped all people in need, never judging their circumstances, and always saw the best in everyone. He was truly a man that everyone could count on for support, guidance and advice. His greatest accomplishment in life, which was the only one that mattered to him, was being a loving provider and caretaker of his wife, children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a “character” and “superman”, forever missed and loved by his family. What greater legacy could a man leave? All services were private and were held at St. Mary’s Church in North Attleboro, Mass. Burial was held in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Donations in his memory should be directed to the Philip Hulitar In-Patient Center, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904-9826. For Guest Book, please visit www.bellowsfuneralchapel.com.
