(09/09/15) Alma Hazel Buck, 85, a Warwick resident for 17 years, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Avalon Nursing Home. Born in Westerly on March 14, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Jerry and Florence (Gardiner) Buck. She was predeceased by several siblings and her longtime friend Amelia Kowenia.
Alma worked 38 years for Royal Manor Nursing Home, retiring in 1998. She did cooking, housekeeping and was always there to help out when needed. She later took care of her roommate for several months when she became ill.
Alma loved her Cats, adopting several strays over the years. She also enjoyed going to the beach to watch the birds and window shopping. She had a wonderful sense of humor that kept everyone smiling.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
