Kacheg "Jimmy" Topalian - Pawtucket, RI

(09/05/15) Pawtucket – Kacheg “Jimmy” Topalian, 89, of Pawtucket died peacefully Monday, August 31, 2015 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Arpine A. (Karoghlanian) Topalian. Born in Providence, a son of the late Krikor and Sultan (Mikaelian) Topalian, he had lived in Pawtucket for 54 years and had also lived in Delray Beach, Florida for many years. Jimmy was the owner of the former Regal Auto Body, Pawtucket for over 45 years. An active Mason, he was a Past Master of the former Unity Lodge #34, F. & A.M., Cumberland and was a member of St. John’s Lodge #1, F. & A.M., Providence. He was an honorary member of Washington Lodge #3, F. & A.M., Warren. He was a member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Providence; Gaspee Order #99, Swords of Bunker Hill; and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He was also a member of the Pawtucket Kiwanis Club and a corporator of the former People’s Bank, a World War II Navy veteran, and a lifelong member of Sts. Vartanantz Church, Providence. This past Friday (September 4), he posthumously received the Varadian Spirit Award, an honor from the Armenian Youth Federation that recognizes a life time commitment to perpetuating Armenian culture in the youth. He is survived by his loving children, Suzanne Abnous (Razmik) of Danville, CA, Debra Tashjian (James) of West Chester, PA, and Kenneth J. Topalian (Medina) of East Greenwich; his sister, Starre Najarian of Providence; his beloved grandchildren, Sevan, Stephanie (Michael), Haig (Ani), Peter, Armen, Alexan, Meran and Shahan. He was the brother of the late Baidzar Harrison of Houston, TX. His funeral will be held Thursday, September 10 at 11 A.M. at St. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, 402 Broadway, Providence. Burial, with military honors, will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends may call at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln Wednesday 5-8 P.M. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Topalian’s memory to Sts.
