(07/19/15) Whitcomb, Steven A., 67, surrounded by his family, passed away on Sunday, July 19th, 2015. Steven was born in Portland, Maine on April 23rd, 1948 to the late Melville Whitcomb and Avis (Colpritt) Bowers of Wiscassett, ME.
After a successful career in management in California, Steven and his family moved to Rhode Island to form H+W Test Products with Gordon Hutton in 1989. Through dedication, hard work, and determination, the partners became a national and international corporation which is still in operation today.
Besides his mother Avis, he is survived by his son Michael Whitcomb and daughter Kathleen Whitcomb; sisters Lisa Gustafson and Lyra Trott, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steven is predeceased by his daughter Jennifer Whitcomb and his two siblings Bruce and Linda.
In honor of Steven\'s wishes, he spent his last days comfortably at home with his two children, sister Lisa, former spouse Linda Sheehan, longtime friend Kevin Blais, and his dog Sarah.
The family wishes to show their appreciation to the wonderful people at Home and Hospice Care of RI, who assisted Steven and his family through this time with grace and dignity.
