(05/17/15) Hackett Charles H., 99, of Warwick passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015. Charles was the husband of Cynthia J. (Amaral) Hackett of Warwick. Born in Burningham, England; he was the son of the late Herbert and Ruth (Shufflebottom) Hackett. He proudly served in the Royal Air Force during WWII before beginning his career as the managing director for Bonas Brothers Machinery of Litchfield, England. Charles was very crafty and would often times repair the looms and help other mill owners repair their looms. His work brought him to Canada for a brief time and eventually the company opened a plant in the United States in which he was asked to manage. He never lost his heritage and the love of England, where his family still lives. Charles will be remembered as a quiet, private, informative and knowledgeable individual with plenty of life experience and wisdom. Besides his wife Cindy, he is survived by two daughters: Eileen Stride (Keith) and Barbara Bennett (Ted); one stepson Kevin Borges (Lynne); three grandchildren: Wayne Stride (Kara), Russell Stride (Rose) and Kyle Borges and three great-grandchildren: Luke, Sam and Jack Stride.
