(05/14/15) Richard L. LaValley, Sr., 77, of Warwick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Betty Jean (Cavaco) LaValley for 46 years.
Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Arthur E. and Genevieve M. (Curran) LaValley.
Richard was the owner and operator of R. L. Antenna Co., Inc. for 45 years until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed building things in his barn, traveling in his RV and NASCAR.
He was the loving father of Richard L. LaValley, Jr. and his wife Heidi and David A. LaValley, all of Warwick. Cherished grandfather of Kiera LaValley who he adored. Caring brother of Henry LaValley of Warwick, Leo L. LaValley of Greenville, Hope Swindell of North Providence, Harriet M. Dexter of Warwick and the late Genevieve E. Wischnowsky and Mary Chatelain.
His funeral will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 9:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Gregory The Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00-6:00 pm.
