Muriel Jordan was the beloved wife of the late Harmon P.B. Jordan, Jr., and daughter of Walter and Mildred (Irons) Wight of Providence. She had lived in Lincoln on Louisquisset Pike since 1939. She also worked as a librarian at the Lincoln Community School for 15 years, and was a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader in addition to being her daughters’ “go to” person for countless school plays, music presentations and classroom projects. Muriel loved singing and theater and was a member of the Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus as well as the Valley Voices (now Encore). She also enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues at the former Lincoln Lanes. Mrs. Jordan is survived by her three daughters; Harriet Carroll, and husband John, of Weymouth, MA, Susan Jordan, and fiancé Neil Laird, of Lincoln, and Jenifer Hamilton and husband Seth of Lincoln; her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Vail Clemence of Bowie, MD; five grandchildren, James Martin, Jordan Hamilton, Reece Hamilton, Allison Stansfield and John Carroll; her uncle Thomas Irons of Warwick, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Cynthia Curtis. Her funeral will be celebrated Friday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited for calling hours Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to Lime Rock Baptist Church Food Pantry, 1075 Great Road, Lincoln or to the Home and Hospice Care of RI’s Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in North Providence would be appreciated.
