(02/19/15) Cumberland – David Perry, 75, of Mendon Road, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Hebert Nursing Home, Smithfield surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of twenty-seven years of Theresa (Nolan) Perry.
Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, a son of the late Augustine and Lillian (Ayer) Perry, he had lived in Cumberland for the past twenty-four years.
David worked for many years as a manager at East Providence Bowling Lanes - where he and Theresa met, and as a Coin Manager at Foxwoods Casino before retiring in 2003.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing baseball in numerous leagues in New Bedford and East Providence. He won several awards for bowling perfect games.
Pops, as he was fondly called by his grandchildren, was known for his imaginative story telling complete with character voices & out-of-this-world languages. He loved to make everyone laugh & became even more humorously animated when surrounded by his siblings.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, David Dubois, and his wife Kerry Lallier, of Seekonk, Massachuestts, four sisters, Linda Rodrigues, and her husband Carlos, of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, Marie Pelletier, and her husband Alan, of Taunton, Massachusetts, Donna Guay, and her husband Bob, of Taunton, Massachusetts, and Susan Mitchell, and her husband Steve, of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, three grandchildren, Nichole Lemieux and her husband Jarod, Damond Dubois and his wife Toni-Anne, and Meagen Lallier; and three great-grandchildren, Marlee, Daphne, and Raelyn; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William Perry.
A prayer service will be held Monday, February 23, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
