(12/02/14) Coventry - Claire (Groslouis) Bacon, 79, of Coventry Drive died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Normand E. Bacon with whom she celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2013.
Born in Putnam, CT, she was the daughter of the late Amie and Florien (Beauregard) Groslouis. She worked as a security officer for 15 years; previously working for 17 years as a waitress at Jordan Marsh in the Warwick Mall and in customer service at Linens ‘n Things and at Michaels.
She is survived by three children: James C. Bacon of North Kingstown, Anne Cantrell of Coventry and Glenn D. Bacon of Coventry; four grandchildren: Nicholas David Bacon, Danielle Lynn Bacon, Amanda Nicole Cantrell & Geoffrey Cain, and one sister: Constance Petrarca of Warwick.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday morning beginning at 9:15 am. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
