(09/01/12) Cumberland – Francis W. Murphy, 80, of Crossing Drive died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Lillian A. (Malouin) Murphy and the late Francine M. (Gagnon) Murphy.
Born in Watertown, NY, a son of the late Bernard K. and Nellie (Sheridan) Murphy, he had lived in Watertown, NY for 11 ½ years and Smithfield for 2 years before moving to Cumberland 2 ½ years ago.
Mr. Murphy was a supervisor for Texas Instruments before retiring.
He was Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1964. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors, the Cruisers, and the Robert A. Owens Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Karleen Tedesco of Lincoln and Renee Murphy of Smithfield; three stepchildren, Paulette Jameson of Pawtucket, Dennis Asselin of Swansea, MA and Susan Stephen of Coventry; one sister, Fern Rossi of Watertown, NY; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
His funeral will be held THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 at 10 A.M. at BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial, with military honors, will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
