(08/29/12) Warwick- Smith, Donald F., 77, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Married for 58 years, he was the devoted husband of Helene D. (Lamoureux) Smith. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Schmitt) Smith.
He was the father of: Debra A. Anderson and her husband Stanley Jr. of Derry, NH, Janet L. Seltzer of Ridgecrest, CA and the late Donald F. Smith, Jr. and his wife Maureen; grandfather of Jennifer Leveillee, Michael Smith and Christine Anderson; great-grandfather of Bryn Smith and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Smith was a draftsman designer at General Electric for 33 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Providence and the Army National Guard.
Funeral from Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Tuesday, September 4th at 11:45 AM followed with a funeral service at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 445 Elmwood Avenue, Providence at 1 PM. Calling hours will be on Monday, September 3rd from 1-4 PM. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park Cemetery in Warwick. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
