(08/26/14) Anna M. DiMaggio, 86, of Sisk Drive, Pawcatuck, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 26, 2014 at her home.
Anna, best known as “Sisi Annie”, was born in Pawcatuck on January 7, 1928, the daughter of the late Biaggio and Maria (Adamo) DiMaggio. She was an inspector at Quality Coil in Pawcatuck for 15 years and also at the George C. Moore Company in Westerly for 35 years. She was the Past President of the Pawcatuck VFW Ladies Auxiliary #1265 as well as the Past President of the District & County VFW. She was the Past President of the Italian-American Club of Pawcatuck and a member of the Lions Club. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church.
Sisi Annie was a second mother to all. She was the happiest when she was with all of her nieces and nephews, being part of their lives. She will be remembered forever.
Anna, was predeceased by her brothers, Pasquale and Antonio and her sisters, Rose Staplin and Sandi Planchon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main Street, Stonington. Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Pawcatuck. Calling hours will take place on Thursday, August 28, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home & Crematory, 64 Friendship Street, Westerly.
