(08/20/14) Eleanore M. (Small) Demers, This unforgettable, one of a kind, witty, classy, \"always room for one more!\" woman, passed away on Tuesday, August 19th, after a joyful 100 years.
Eleanore Small Demers, wife of the late Lionel Demers, was born in Scituate, Rhode Island, in 1914.
She is survived by her children Dennis Demers and his wife Jane of Newport and Paula Demers of New York City, and her grandchildren Heather Demers Curran of Darien, CT, Ryan Demers of Chicago, IL, Sarah Chaves Litinsky of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Melanie Chaves Tinnerello of Waterford, CT and her delightful five great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Earl Small, Elsie Leonard, Gertrude Caulfield, Inez Williams, Pearl Morgan and Hazel Small.
Eleanore, a resident of Warwick for 64 years, was an insatiable learner (student) and attended college for the first time in her sixties. She was known for her love of family, entertaining, gardening, and especially for her good deeds. She was adored by everyone and words can\'t express how much she meant to all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 10:30-11:00 in Calvary Baptist Church, 747 Broad Street, Providence followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to her life-long church, Calvary Baptist Church.
