(08/05/14) BENTZ, RITA (Nelson), 97, passed away Monday August 4, 2014 at Elmhurst Extended Care, Providence. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Nelson. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Bentz.
Mrs. Bentz was a waitress for many years at the Grist Mill Restaurant, Seekonk and the TK Club, Pawtucket. She was a lifelong communicant of Grace Church, Providence.
A loving and devoted mother, she is survived by her sons, John \"Jack\" Bentz and his wife Linda and Charles F. Bentz and his wife Joan. Loving grandmother of Christine Robb and her husband William, Jonathan Bentz and his wife Amy, Jill Cardarella and her husband James, Michael Bentz and his wife Stacey, Heather DeAngelis and her husband Michael and was the loving great-grandmother of eight. She will be sorely missed.
Her funeral is Friday ay 8 a.m. from \"WOODLAWN\" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston followed by a service at 9 a.m in Grace Church 175 Mathewson Street, Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Thursday 4-7 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
