(07/29/14) Lincoln – Irene E. (Soucy) Pion, 83, of Lincoln died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Pion.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Victor Soucy and Eva R. (Gaboriault) Soucy Bartlett, she had lived in Lincoln and Cumberland for the past 46 years. She was the stepdaughter of the late George Bartlett.
Mrs. Pion was a yarn inspector for Concordia for 15 years and then was a sprayer and supervisor for Hasbro, Inc. for 29 years retiring in 1994.
Mrs. Pion was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church, Cumberland. She was a member of the John Hubert Chorale, and was a choir member of St. Joseph’s Church, Ashton and St. Joan of Arc Church, Cumberland.
She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Mandeville and her husband, Kenneth of Orleans, VT and Jeanne Dion and her husband, Raymond of North Smithfield; one sister, Claire Renell of Lincoln; one brother, Albert Soucy, and his wife Betty, of Pawtucket; three sisters-in-law, Therese Soucy of Lincoln, Cecile Pion of Winter Haven, FL, and Rita Pion of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Raymond and Kevin Dion, Thomas and Nicholas Parent, and Jessica Scott; four great grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Dion, and Benjamin and John Scott; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Richard W. Soucy.
Her funeral will be held FRIDAY, AUGUST 1 at 8:30 A.M. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
