(07/22/14) Cyrus E. Krahn, 82, of Hopkinton passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at home. He was the beloved husband of Norma C. (Tombs) Krahn for 63 years.
Born in Spring Valley, Minnesota, he was a son of the late Gustav and Luverna (Kraling) Krahn.
Mr. Krahn was a Machinist for Electric Boat in Groton for 10 years and then as a Mechanic for the State of Rhode Island for 30 years, until his retirement in 1990. He served in The United States Navy during the Korean War.
He was the loving father of James R. Krahn and his wife Janice of Zumbro Falls, MN, Debra L. Williams and her husband Mark of Franklin, MA, David W. Krahn and his wife Michele of Greene, RI and Jeffrey E. Krahn and his wife Evelyn of Greenwood, ME. Cherished grandfather of eight and great grandfather of one. Caring brother of Gaynel Richardson of Rochester, MN and the late Glenn Krahn and Dorothy Drewes.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 4-7 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Funeral and burial are private.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 9 New London Avenue, West Warwick, RI 02893 would be appreciated.
