James E Schoepfer - East Providence, RI

(06/30/14) East Providence – James E. Schoepfer, 83, of Rumford, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Audrey (Howard) Schoepfer for fifty-five years. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Otto O. and Helen L. (Mitchell) Schoepfer, he resided in Pawtucket until moving to Rumford in 2008. Jim was a 1948 graduate of East High School and a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. He was employed by Texas Instruments for thirty-three years until retiring in 1990. Jim was a member of Darlington Congregational Church for nearly seventy years, where he held the title of Head Usher for over fifty years. Jim was active in Sunday School and also served on the Board of Deacons and the Board of Trustees. An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Nancy G. Wilkinson and her husband, Kenneth; a son, James A. Schoepfer and his wife, Lillian; two grandchildren, Jason S. Wilkinson and his wife, Melissa and Emily M. Wilkinson; a great-granddaughter, Briella Hope Wilkinson; nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Ronald S. Schoepfer and the brother of the late Leonard W. Schoepfer. His funeral with Military Honors will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by Services at 10 a.m. in Darlington Congregational Church. Interment will follow at Newell Burying Ground, So. Attleboro.
