(02/07/13) East Providence – Roland “Rollie” L. Woodcock, 70, of Rumford, passed away at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence on Thursday, February 7, 2013 surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with stomach cancer for the past 10 months. He was the husband of Muriel A. (Carosi) Woodcock for 44 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas F. and Bertha (Kraigenow) Woodcock. Rollie was the owner of Rollie’s Skate Shop, Rumford for 36 years. During his career, he sharpened skates at the Rhode Island Auditorium for the RI Reds; PC Friars men and women teams; Brown University men and women teams and many other college teams, as well as local area youth teams; high schools and men’s leagues. Besides his wife, he leaves his beloved children, Mori and her husband, Scott Dorval and Rollie, Jr. and his wife, Debra (McCallum) Woodcock all of North Attleboro; his precious grandchildren, Sydney Rose Dorval, Audrey Elizabeth Woodcock and Jack Roland Woodcock; his siblings, Thomas (Tina) Woodcock of Hebron, CT, Edward Woodcock of Warwick, Marilyn (William) Nobrega of Pawtucket and the late Carol Woodcock. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and several great nieces and nephews. VISITATION will begin on Monday at 4 p.m. followed by Services at 8 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Burial will be private. Flowers are respectfully omitted.
