(01/13/13) ROUVELAS, ZACHARIAS P. \"Jack\" , 86 of Cranston and Bonita Springs, Fla. passed away peacefully January 12, 2013. Born in Providence , he was the son of the late Peter and Maria (Kalogeras) Rouvelas. He was the beloved husband of Nadine T. (Myer) Rouvelas for sixty years, the cherised father of Teresa M. Santagata and Gary P. Rouvelas, and devoted grandfather of Krystan M. Santagata, Thomas Z. Santagata and Allison P. Rouvelas. He was predeceased by his sisters Angelina Pappas and Ethel Petrucci.
Jack, as he was called by family and friends, served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and survived a plane crash in 1953. He was the proud founder and owner of Garden Hills Florist until retirement in 1998.
He was a member of FTD and AHEPA and the R.I. Florist Association.
His funeral is Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. from \'\'WOODLAWN\'\' Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 175 Oaklawn Ave. Cranston, R.I. 02920. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
