Elizabeth A (Partridge) Green - East Providence, RI

(01/11/13) East Providence – Elizabeth A. (Partridge) Green, 99, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Linn Health Care Center, East Providence. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and L. Alma (Blackburn) Partridge and the wife of the late Wesley C Green. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Partridge and her brother, Rev. Daniel Partridge, Jr. She is survived by her son, Wesley C. Green, Jr. of Green Valley, AZ and one grandson. Elizabeth was born in Central Falls and lived most of her life in Pawtucket before moving to the United Methodist Retirement Center in East Providence in 2005. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, and was one of the initial members of Wesley United Methodist Church in Lincoln, RI, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer, and lay delegate to the annual conference. She also served terms as president and treasurer of the Women\'s Society of Christian Service of the New England Southern Conference of the United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was a 1933 graduate of Brown University, where she was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi. After graduation she worked as librarian and secretary for the Mathematics Department at Brown. She worked for many years as Office Manager and Audio-Visual Librarian for the New England Southern Conference of the United Methodist Church, and then as assistant to the administrator of the United Methodist Retirement Center in East Providence. After her retirement, she continued for many years as a volunteer in a variety of programs and activities at the Retirement Center. A Memorial Service will be held this coming spring at a time to be scheduled.
