(01/11/13) Pawtucket – William H. Sullivan, 83, of Columbus Ave., Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Born in Dorchester, MA, he was the son of the late William and Louise (Treanor) Sullivan. He moved to Pawtucket in 1950 when he married his beloved late wife, Geraldine (Ward) Sullivan with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Bill was a devoted member of St. Teresa Parish and was active in the seniors group helping to coordinate their many trips. He was also a member of the choir. Bill worked at Fleet Bank for 25 years until his retirement. In his retirement years, he spent many hours volunteering with Hospice where his kindness and compassion helped many patients find peace in their final days. His quick wit and wonderful sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him and once you met “Bill” you didn’t forget him. The company of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was his greatest treasure along with the time he spent with his dear friends. The extraordinary example he set, the lessons of life he taught aong with the daily journals he wrote will be part of his legacy for generations. He leaves four children, Mary Booth and her husband, Robert of Pawtucket, Dan Sullivan and his wife, Susan of Attleboro, Ann Marquard and her husband, David of Lincoln and David Sullivan and his wife, Dianne of Westwood, MA and a sister, Margaret DeLuca of Taunton. He was the loving grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of four. He was the brother of the late Barbara Guest, Paul, Jack and Richard Sullivan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
