(12/28/12) Thaddeus E. “Ted E.” Szelag, 85, of Sanford Rd., Westport, formerly of Evergreen Drive, Tiverton, died Thursday, December 27, 2012.
An Army veteran of WW II, he was employed by H.P. Hood and Sons for many years. An avid bowler and N.Y. Yankees fan, he was Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Tiverton.
He was the son of the late Ignacy and Victoria (Dziadura) Szelag; the brother of the late Jean Szelag, Helen Szelag, Walter Szelag (wife late Joyce), Matthew Szelag (wife Joan of Fall River) and Stanley Szelag; the uncle of Lori A. Ethier (husband Peter), Carol J. McCarthy (husband David) and Shannon Paige McCarthy, all of Westport and Matthew and Thomas Szelag, both of Fall River.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River with a funeral mass in Holy Cross Church of Saints Peter and Paul Parish at 9:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.
