(12/26/12) THOMAS, SAMIRA , 83 of Wilson Ave. , co-owner of The Cedar Chest, Federal Hill, for over 50 years before retiring. Died on Christmas Day, surrounded by her loving family at R.I. Hospital. She was born in Kfarsghab, Lebanon, the wife of the late George A. Thomas Sr. and the daughter of the late Nehme J. and Charlotte (Karam) Nehme. Mrs Thomas was a member of The Rosary Sodality and recipient of the Massabki Award from NAM.
She leaves two sons; George Jr. and wife Valerie Thomas of Providence, Tom A. and Maureen Thomas of Johnston; and two daughters Georgeann Thomas and Tina (Ernesta) and her husband Elie Saker both of Johnston.
She is the last survivor of her siblings. Grandmother of George Thomas III, Peter and Joseph Thomas, Michael, Alexandria, Nicholas and Christopher Saker. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews in Easton PA, Lebanon and Australia.
Her funeral is Friday at December 28, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. from \'\'WOODLAWN\'\' Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. George\'s Maronite Catholic at St. Raymond Church 1240 No. Main St. Providence.
