(11/27/12) Lincoln – Peter F. Dyer, Sr., 83, of Cullen Hill Road died Monday, November 26, 2012 at Trinity Health Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (White) Dyer. Mr. and Mrs. Dyer were married for 53 years.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Thomas B. and Mary E. (Reilly) Dyer, he had lived in Lincoln for the past 53 years.
Mr. Dyer was a bricklayer and later worked for Stop & Shop for 15 years. He later became a metal roller of Technical Materials, Lincoln for over 20 years before retiring in 1991. Following his retirement, he was a school bus monitor in Lincoln for several years.
An avid bowler, he was a member of the Fairlawn Bowling League for many years and also bowled with the Over-65 Club. He was also an avid fisherman.
He was a Korean War Army veteran, and was a communicant of Historic St. Joseph’s Church, Cumberland.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Peter F. Dyer, Jr. and his wife, Maureen of Lincoln; three daughters, Sandra Flanagan and her husband, Joseph of Lincoln, Linda L’Etoile of Manchester, NH and Debra Dyer of Lincoln; four sisters, Virginia Houle of Castle Rock, CO, Helen Satula and Marion Poniatowski, both of Smithfield and Barbara O’Malley of Narragansett; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Thomas B. Dyer, Jr.
His funeral will be held FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30 at 9:45 A.M. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in Historic St. Joseph’s Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial, with military honors, will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
