(11/26/12) Genevieve J. Greenwood, 82, of Sherwood Valley Lane, Coventry, RI, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Brentwood Nursing Home, Warwick, RI. Born in Montclair, NJ, she was the loving wife of the late Eugene J. Greenwood for sixty three years and the daughter of the late Harold and Christina (Mann) Brown. She was a Registered Nurse for thirty years. She worked at Kent County Memorial Hospital until retiring and also worked for St. Joseph\'s Hospital in Pediatric Care. Genevieve held esteemed recognition that included \"Nurse of the Year\" while employed at Kent County Memorial Hospital, \"Mother of the Year\", and \"Who\'s Who Among American College Students\" while attending the Community College of RI Nursing Program. She was a loving and dedicated mother who not only raised and nurtured her own children but also cared for many others.
Genevieve was the beloved mother of seven children; Charlene Henderson, Douglas Greenwood, Dr. Virginia Greenwood, Linda Greenwood, Carol Fisch, Eugene Greenwood and Janet Cornell. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two sisters. A Eulogistic Memorial Service in her honor will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:30 am at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 118 Division Street, East Greenwich, RI.
