Gilbert "Red" G Hillman - Coventry, RI

(11/23/12) Hillman, Gilbert G. “Red”, 86, formerly of North Kingstown, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Center in Providence. He was the loving husband of Lillian M. (Clark) Hillman of Coventry. Born in Richmond, RI he was the son of the late George and Esther (Lea) Hillman. He was employed at DeHoff Inc. for many years as a machinist. Some of his interests were bowling, playing cards, golfing and kite flying. He had a great personality and view on life, always living it to the fullest. Red had never met anyone who didn’t like him and always attracted people where ever he went. He was a loving husband, dad, grand dad and great-grand dad who will be greatly missed. Besides his wife he is survived by a large and loving family. Mr. Hillman was predeceased by his wife Claire (Cummiskey) Hillman, a son Richard A. Hillman and a granddaughter Chelsea V. Hillman. A funeral service will take place at Norwood Baptist Church, 48 Budlong Avenue, Warwick on Wednesday, November 28 at 10 AM followed with interment in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick.
