(07/24/12) West Warwick- Turner, Helen O. (Hanczaryk), 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 24. She was the wife of the late Thomas P. Turner. Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Telka (Knapik) Hanczaryk.
Mrs. Turner worked at the Grinell Corporation as a registered nurse. She was a lifelong West Warwick resident, respected by many for her thought provoking letters to the editor and a graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing. She had a sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling the world. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was so proud to be a grandmother.
She is survived by four children: Thomas J. Turner of East Hampton, CT, Janet T. Oliveira of West Chester, PA, Kathy T.W. Eden of Sterling, CT and Jennifer T. Huff of Scituate, RI; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four siblings: Mary Bannon, Jenny Bowers, Mayola Grisnik and
Edwin Hanczaryk.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 28 at 12 Noon in Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours will be from 10 AM-12 PM prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be private. Information and condolences at carpenterjenks.com.
