(11/04/12) HACKWORTH, Presley W., 76, of Centre Street, Coventry, passed away Friday afternoon, Nov. 2, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Zowena (Repose) Hackworth, they had been married for 55 years. Born in Gurdon, Arkansas, a son of the late Preston and Mattie Louise (Sublett) Hackworth.
Mr. Hackworth was an auto body technician for 31 years working for the former Knights Garage and Folgo Ford before retiring 1997. He served from 1956 to 1960 in the United States Navy, a member of the PIC, past president of the West Warwick Am-Vets, Post 2, Boy Scouts Troop #3 Leader, was an auto body instructor at RI Trade Shop Schools and enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Susan M. Bizzacco and her husband Robert of Johnston; a son, Roger A. Hackworth of West Warwick; four grandchildren, Amanda and Nicole Bizzacco and Sarah and Kyle Hackworth; and a brother, Elvis Hackworth in Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Margaret Louise Hughes-Ramsey and Sible Schee.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the HENAULT- GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick. Interment will follow with military honors in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
