(07/23/12) Cumberland – Brenda L. (Norton) Lucas, 75, of Old Hickory Drive died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Lucas and the former wife of Arthur Grant of Newport.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Vernon and Elizabeth (McIntyre) Norton, she had lived in Cumberland for the past 49 years.
Mrs. Lucas was a hotel manager for the former Howard Johnson’s in Pawtucket and the former Holiday Inn in South Attleboro before retiring. She was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School. She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland.
She is survived by one daughter, Valerie Parillo of North Providence; two sons, Alan Grant of Cumberland and Peter Grant of Lincoln; one sister, Blair N. Simmons of Bristol; one brother, Bruce G. Norton of Denver, CO; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Barrie M. Norton, Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held THURSDAY, JULY 26 at 10 A.M. in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
