(10/25/12) Anderson, Phyllis E. (Boyd), 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, October 25, 2012. She was the wife of Gustaf A. Anderson, celebrating their 68 year wedding anniversary this past June. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Adele L. (Ahlstedt) Boyd.
Mrs. Anderson’s family was always at the center of her life; she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in West Warwick, a 50 year member of the ADAH Chapter #15 O.E.S. and she was the Mother Advisor of Pawtuxet #8 Order of Rainbow. Some of her interests were playing golf at Coventry Pines Womens Golf League, reading, baking, and gardening.
Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters Linda S. Henry and husband David of Coventry and Dale E. Wright and husband Wayne of New Hope, PA, four grandchildren: Erica Brown, Kristen Cole, Erick Wright and Katheryn Wright; six great-grandchildren: Matthew Osley, Ryan Osley, Allyson and Brook Cole, Evie and Jack Wright; and a sister Dorothy L. Warren of Westerly.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 29 at 10 AM at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 9 New London Avenue, West Warwick followed with interment at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-6 PM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church.
