Thomas V DelBonis - Cranston, RI

(10/19/12) Thomas V. DelBonis 81, of Cranston died at home on October 18, 2012. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Spirito) DelBonis, brother of Lawrence DelBonis and the late Dolores DelBonis. Tom is survived by his beloved wife and caregiver, Dana (Saladon) DelBonis, his daughters, MaryAnn Blade, Elisa Hebert and Amber Murzi, and his grandchildren, Eric Blade, Quincy and Caleb Najera and Skylar Hebert. During the Korean conflict, Tom proudly served as a United States Marine. Tom believed strongly in the power of education, was a life-long learner and avid reader, and encouraged his children and grandchildren to be as well. Tom went on to run several RI-based companies, notably Spencer Company and Scrumptions, Inc. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Feast Society and gave generously to community-based organizations, including AIDS Care Ocean State, Crossroads Rhode Island, McAuley House and The Rhode Island Community Food Bank. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Rhode Island Hospital 593 Eddy Street, Providence RI 02903. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at Swan Point, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, RI on Thursday, the twenty fifth of October, at 1 o’clock. Internment is private. Semper Fi.
