(10/19/12) Mildred L. (Wilks) Duran, 81, of Elmwood Avenue, Providence passed away Wednesday, October 17th at Tockwotton Home. She was the beloved wife of John E. Duran. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Louise (Liptrot) Wilks.
Mrs. Duran was a Press Operator for Eli Metal Company in Providence until her retirement.
She was the loving mother of the late Dennis Wilks. Cherished sister of Thomas Wilks of Cleveland, OH, Evelyn Burghardt of Johnston, Elizabeth Long of Cranston, Lillian Filidoro of Cleveland, OH and the late Robert, George and Hazel Wilks and Constance Gallagher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:00 am in St. Mary Church, 538 Broadway, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 2-4 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Alzheimer\'s Association., RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
