(10/18/12) LINCOLN – John P. Fredericks, 92, of Joyce Ann Drive, formerly of North Providence, died Wednesday, October 17, at home. He was the husband of the late Marie (Cosenza) Fredericks.
Born in Ozone Park, N. Y., a son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Migy) Fredericks, he had lived in North Providence for seventeen years, before moving to Manville in 2009.
Mr. Fredericks was President of Hamilton Motor Lines before retiring. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was an avid traveler who, with his wife, enjoyed taking many cross-country trips. He was also a lifelong member of the American Philatelic Society.
He is survived by one daughter, Rose E. Fredericks, M.D. of Manville; one son, George Fredericks of Palm Coast, FL; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late Arthur Fredericks, Anna Carsten, Christina Johnson, Margaret Burnett, George Fredericks, James Fredericks, Richard Fredericks, and Woodrow Fredericks.
His funeral service will be held Monday, October 22, at 10:00 a.m. in BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial, with military honors, will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday from 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
